how do you think touhou-playing correlates with intelligence? danmaku proficiency probably involves high IQ to some extent, partly being a problem solving activity, right?

Like most behaviors, playing touhou is a cultural activity that's correlated with how much exposure you have to touhou and touhou-playing people. General intelligence is bascially unrelated to any specific learned behavior or thought process.
That said, it's likely that the ability to build any skill quickly, and thus how good you are at touhou vs how much time you've spent playing it, could be said to be one component of what we might call intelligence. However, that's not a very good estimator of other types of intelligence such as linguistic learning or creativity, and in fact many other primates are better that humans at the kind of coordination, information processing, and memorization that makes a good touhou player.
As for whether being part of touhou-adjacent subcultures correlates with intelligence: it definitely coordinates with high-functioning autism, so maybe.

iq tests are based on the ability to recognize patterns, id say touhou mostly correlates to spatial iq development
ive never taken an official iq test, but one online test i took said i had a spatial iq of 141 while getting more average scores on the verbal and memory tests, although i have no idea how accurate it is
i dont practice these tests and take the best score to prove im a genius like some midwits out there do either

I've got a spatial iq of around 98. That is-I am basically retarded in this area, and in fact, sometimes struggle with controlling the players against oceans of danmaku.
Physics was my worst subject in school, and my scores would typically float around 10%-30%. Certain failure, in other words.
Programming, too, isn't something performativity engaged with the ease, I'm sure, a lot of people here possess.
Some days, I randomly fall down. It's definite retardation but, 1cc'ing Touhou is still easy. All you have to do is memorize everything, from the song, to starting positions--everything.
