We all know what the best (easiest) touhou games to start with are.

But which ones are the worst? SA and UFO come to mind. But humor me here.

How much better would you be at avoidan danmaku had you started with SA and stuck with it until you mastered the shit outta it?

>> No.4628123

EoSD is quite hard when compared to PCB and IN. The system changerd quitw a bit in MoF, so I'm not sure about that, but personally I found it to ber harder than SA or UFO.

>> No.4628124

I started with MoF, so SA was a pretty jarring experience. I think introducing someone to Touhou for the first time I probably wouldn't start with UFO or SA. Maybe IN?

>> No.4628121

It depends.

Are we counting Extras or not?

>> No.4628126

If I had mastered SA before any of the others, I would've 1cc'd each touhou and it's Extra Stage boss instead of complaining on /jp/ every time i failed to

>> No.4628128

SA focuses heavily on streaming, so I'm not too sure I'd be very good.

Most stages, you can play the entire stage tapping left/right in rhythm with the music and never get hit, provided you master changing directions when you're streaming.

>> No.4628134

I started with ufo at about 10 fps without realizing anything was wrong. I still couldn't beat it on normal.

>> No.4628140

I started with PCB, moved on to EoSD, but couldn't get the hang of it, the went to IN which I found very easy, to UFO and SA which I didn't. (I still can't beat SA)
Finally, MoF which I found to be incredibly easy, easier than PCB. Took me a day to 1CC with Reimu B and another to beat extra.

>> No.4628150

I find MoF the hardest.

>> No.4628152

I started on EoSD. I'm still on it.

>> No.4628153

Sorry for this question but I don't want to create a thread about it since we have this one already:

I'm playing IN right now and I'm having trouble with the Time points, shit sucks to use a whole hour at every stage. I went to touhou wiki to learn about how it works but I still don't get it very well, what should I exactly do to complete stages and only use 30 minutes of the time? (I'm using Magic Team for you to know in any case of exceptions at some stages)

same.

same here. I can get past patchy but right after that I die

Hardest: StB, SA, UFO
Easiest: PoFV, MoF, IN

Shittiest: PoFV

I started Touhou with SA on Normal and died sooo many times before I got my first 1CC. However, after that I beat IN Normal on my first try (first stage B attempt, that is), and beat MoF Normal in 3 attempts, so it seemed like having a higher initial learning curve helped down the road. UFO was definitely much harder to clear, but once I played stage 5 enough to not get owned by curvy lasers the 1CC wasn't too bad.

Your list fails to take into account the good ones. Thread still open!

>> No.4628188

UFO isn't hard at all once you get over the collecting UFOs while dodging bullets shit.

>> No.4628189

I think UFO is fine to start on. I mean fuck, you should be fine unless you're a complete newfag to danmaku.

>> No.4628201

>>4628189
most people are when they start to play Touhou

>> No.4628202

Started with EoSD and don't regret it. I suck at touhou (still can't 1cc any game, still making stupid mistakes) but I know I would suck even more if I started with any "easy" game.

>> No.4628204

>>4628152

Me too, I've 1cc'd it (lol barely)... but I just can't beat Flan.

>> No.4628206

SA is the hardest
IN is the easiest
StB and PoFv and IaMP probably won't help yoi get anywhere soo yeah

>StB and PoFv and IaMP probably won't help yoi get anywhere soo yeah

why are you even bringing up IaMP

>> No.4628237

>>4628206
StB will help you a ton. I hope everyone who sucks is looking forward to Double Spoiler.

>> No.4628239

>>4628206
StB is like a tutorial on danmaku. I'd say it's the best game to train on.

>> No.4628251

I started with PCB, and I'm really glad I did. I think it's a good place to start. However, I'm not a very good judge; my experience with the various games is lopsided enough that I've never thought IN is as easy as everyone claims. For me it goes PCB < MoF < IN < EoSD < SA
(and I haven't played UFO yet)

>> No.4628310

>>4628251
IN is supposed to be easy because of the huge deathbombing time frame.
Not only that, but it's really obvious when to hit the bomb button.
The danmaku aren't particularly hard to dodge either.

>> No.4628340

Shoot the Bullet is way too hard to be considered a decent practice IMO.

I got to Stage 6 and just had to give up.

>> No.4628487

>>4628340
That's because you stopped training.
