I think the guya cares about a man's prestige/ability if her legend is anything to go by and how she very lightly dated or hung out with the prince for a short while before she got taken back to the moon. I don't think they ever had an affair together, I suppose it'd be dependent on the actual legend, but she actually did love him. It was clear that since she knew her time on earth was limited she refused to marry him. When she was taken to the moon it was said she became a totally different person, hence she didn't try to come back and only left him medicine to become immortal. You could say that the medicine was her way of wanting to get together again, since with time it possible, but thats speculation.

I don't think that's the full picture, it's told that she was genuinely upset and crying over most of the failures of the impossible requests, several for deceiving her notably. To me at least it implies she was seriously looking forward to the proof of love only to learn it was fake.

In her story she was rather naive about love as any young princess would and perhaps she still is, and she learned that the prince didn't take her elixir and maybe took that personally as another proof of deceit, that the prince really didn't want to wait an untold amount of years just to see her again and prove his love. Possibly.

They are durable, the physical forms of youkai don't really matter as they're souls that are formed from concepts and belief. Their body doesn't really matter as even if it gets entirely destroyed they can live on as a formless spirit until they can regenerate. Their forms are simply what they choose to be now that they aren't bound to legend as they used to be and can reinvent themselves as they see fit in gensokyo.
Its why they choose to be cute girls in frilly dresses and silly hats, so they can milk semen from humans efficiently and without trouble.

After a thousand thanks to the doctor and the apothecary (who wears bunny ears), the young man decide to make his leave. But, before he could do so, he saw a figure in one of the rooms. Curios, the young man decide to look into the room and see the back of the figure, sitting down. The figure has long, silky black hair that reaches her back. The young man unable to make out her figure except for her hair. He worries that he has been staring too long. As to not be labeled a creep, the young man slowly and quietly try to make his leave. Unfortunately, lady luck was not at his side, as the young man fumbled and tumbles to the ground. He quickly gets up, hoping that the person hadn't notice of his action. He turns his head to check and then, their eyes met. The young man and the girl stare at each other for a few seconds, before the doctor came in to break the silence.
“There was a loud thump. Is there anything wrong?” the doctor asked. The young man sheepishly said that he only fell and said that he is fine. The doctor sighs and remind him to take care of his body more. The young man laugh and he glance at the girl to see she gives a small smile. Seeing that made the young man heart thumping loudly. The sight of the girl smiling, the young man could watch that all day. The young man wanted to get to know the girl, but he knows, that today is the only time that he’ll have this chance. To meet with the girl. He need a more concrete way of meeting the girl. More chances to see her. Then, the doctor starts to turn away and that gives the man an idea. Before the doctor leaves, the young man clasps her hands, and ask,
“Would you mind making me your apprentice?” The doctor look at the young man, confused. She asked him the reason as to why he wants to study medicine. “It’s because I want to help people just like how you help me,” the young man lied. He lied on his reason as to why he wishes to learn. He only has his eyes on the girl inside the room. But this is a necessary lie. As this is the only way for he to learn more about the girl. The doctor sees that there’s no reason for her to turn the man down and she now took him under her wings. The young man thanked the doctor again: for giving him a chance, to get closer to the girl.
And so, the young man comes back and forth to the girl’s residence, Eientei. Despite his intention originally were to only know the girl, he diligently learn the tricks of medicine from the doctor. He also help the peddler to sell the medicine that the doctor created. The doctor’s medicine is the work of miracles. The young man sees it before his eyes that the doctor’s medicine is the real deal. That is to say, it works every time. The young man has respect for the doctor and the peddler for the help they have given to the Human Village.
Now, as for the girl, she is wonderful. The time that the young man spends with the girl was priceless. Her dainty figure, her graceful air, her perfect looks that rivals any girls from the Human Village. There is no one that can compare to her. The way that she smiles as bright as the sun, the way she articulates her words logically, the way she laughs, her smell. Her everything. The young man wonders, what it would feel like if he managed to hold her in his arms. How her warmth would feel like. The relationship that they have now turns to friend. He can’t see her as only a friend anymore. The young man has turn greedy. He wants more. He gather his courage, and laid it bare to the girl,
And now, we’re at the beginning. The person in front of the man remain silent. The silent overwhelms the young man. After the confession, the highs dies down. Multiple scenes play out in his head. Where he succeed, he fails, he wasn’t acknowledge. His mouth has now turn dry, yet his body sweats. Now, he curse himself. Why does he break the status quo? Why can’t he just stay friends with the girl? Why can’t he just held it all in, rather than be greedy? Why doesn’t he confirm the girl’s feelings before he confessed? Within the "tsun" there is the "dere", or so the saying goes.
The truth is that people have layers like an onion. People are like onions.
Within those layers there is no rule to say that there cannot be something between the tsun and the dere, like the yan. So that makes a Tsunyandere, in this example.
All it'd take is a young man to catch the Eldest Daughter's eye and make her focus her bratty delinquancy on him instead of the nebulous group of Gensokyo who she's only ever bothering because she's bored (and in dire need of correction).

Imagine a world if you will where Tenko finds a man who shrugs her off at first, not putting up with her chuuni bullshit and instead leaves her high and dry looking like an idiot. Being the proud child she is there is a zero percent chance of her letting that slide, so she has to get off her keystone and run after him to find out why she's being ignored.
Ten minutes into their conversation, Tenko feels something. Something deep inside her that's been there since she was born yet only now has she even noticed it was there at all. Tenko finds something at all resembling a father figure in her life, one that at least acknowledges her existence.
