I've been thinking about just taking the bullet and paying for NAI but I have no clue how many images it can generate with the amount of the "anlas" currency that it gives me with each tier. yeah what the other guys said. basically, you get free normal gens with the highest tier, so you barely even use the anlas unless you want to upscale, gen multiple pics at once, or generate larger images. so you can gen pics one by one to your heart's content that way, all day every day for a month. I wouldn't recommend purchasing anlas or any tiers below that sadly

if you like coherent flat 2d styles that look somewhat close to the artists then yes it's impossible to get that on local. it requires a lot of manual asswiping to fix small character details that nai gets right more often than not (unless it's very obscure character).
that said some people prefer this semi-realistic style that local has and you can do some custom characters/styles that nai doesn't have due to its limitations (not being able to train loras/embeds for it)

Being locked down as it is it quite literally can't be the best at it. Its base model may be really impressive at a glance, but it can't hold a candle to a pimped-out local SD installation. You can get everything down exactly how you want it with SD. You can't even use custom LORAs with NAI. Never mind really useful stuff like upscaler models, CN, cross-model i2i, different VAEs, etc. etc.

It's a locked-down, corporate product. Made for convenience and impressive surface results. But software needs space to truly hit its potential, and NAI's too commercialised for that to happen.

Don't mistake me. I might use NAI's model if it was available locally, but the absence of features that are standard in local SD is just too big of a downgrade.

What's the point of "good" base gens when you can't tweak everything about it exactly to your liking afterwards? Hell, you can't even use CN with NAI, so you can't feed it the exact pose you want, unless it's one of the bog-standard ones or you get lucky with the RNG.

Face it. NAI is a low consumer level product, and sure, for that niche it is an extremely impressive one. It's great for throwaway porn, it's great for plagiari-- I mean style emulation, but aside from that? I guess it's a nice pain in the behind when your requests time out despite your hard-earned money having already gone to the owners.

Again, I'm not dissing NAI's model. The model would be cool to have. But as software, it's hamstrung at best.
