i don't like the idea of language certificates because i don't think language ability can be quantified or measured. i mean, i either know japanese or i don't. same with english. i just know english,i don't think getting 100% or 99% or whatever in a language exam really proves anything. i also don't like the implication that i can be compared to other people based on my score; that someone with a 99% score is somehow "better" than me if i only have a 98% score. but if you'll allow me to cope for a second, i've never taken an online english language test where i didn't get 100%. so that's not the issue here, i'm just making a general statement.
