Maybe, he's not your generic, indecisive wuss, but I found him to be the most idiotic and poorly written main character of any VN I have ever played; even worse than Battler. At least Battler doesn't presume to manipulate people by being "lol, so random! XD"

Another pretty great protagonist in my opinion is Serika from Ikusa Megami series. He might start out as pretty generic goody two shoe hero, but after fate starts to kick his nuts he develops in pretty nice character. And by the end of Zero and start of Verita he has really grown on you.

Well, I played around with that partial and really unedited patch from way back, but it was really atrocious. ("Yoshi, let's go Aoba-chan, ne" etc).
I agree it's too bad that the attempt to translate it died, but by no means I'd want anyone to read it in this manner. She's indeed a bit too genki at first, but after the accident, she was great.

Sorry, you mean in a bad way? I'd disagree in this case. The vocal songs she sings in the game are excellent, and the seiyuu is pretty experienced (Little Busters' Rin and other ~100 roles or so). Maybe she may have sounded a bit edgy at a few places, but I think it was a decent job overall.
