We all know "those people" that mispronounce Japanese words. I can forgive harder sounds like L/R and long O, but anything else is unforgiveable. Why are they even in this fandom if they care so little about the characters and world that they willingly mispronounce everything?

I'm pretty sure they're just trying too hard to pronounce it right, because romanji are already written as how you'd pronounce it as an english speaker.

Kind of, english is not a completely phonetic language when written. Vowels, vowel combinations, and some consonants can be pronounced differently and emphasis can be placed on different syllables.

... I'm a native speaker?
It's more like there are a hundred different rules for pronunciation that no one can tell you because you just have to know them. Partially it's because people have gotten lazy over the years, and so things like "loughborough" make perfect sense to someone who encounters the "-ough" on a daily basis, knows that it's pronunciation is highly dependant on what came before and has used it enough to know which one is correct.
Six and two threes it is a lot of the time, I think it might be the most flexible common language for saying one thing in as many different ways as possible without actually changing the meaning of the sentence in the slightest.

If you have to explain the sharp R, you know you're in for a bad time. It gets even worse when they joke about it. The people who have no real experience with languages other than English and its retarded shit are to blame. Yeah, it sucks when the supposedly hardcore people do that.

Anyways, >>45437725, please listen to me. That it's really related to this thread.

I went to Yoshinoya a while ago; you know, Yoshinoya?

Well anyways there was an insane number of people there, and I couldn't get in.

Then, I looked at the banner hanging from the ceiling, and it had "150 yen off" written on it.

Oh, the stupidity. Those idiots.

You, don't come to Yoshinoya just because it's 150 yen off, fool.

It's only 150 yen, 1-5-0 YEN for crying out loud.

There're even entire families here. Family of 4, all out for some Yoshinoya, huh? How fucking nice.

"Alright, daddy's gonna order the extra-large." God I can't bear to watch.

You people, I'll give you 150 yen if you get out of those seats.

Yosinoya should be a bloody place.

That tense atmosphere, where two guys on opposite sides of the U-shaped table can start a fight at any time,

the stab-or-be-stabbed mentality, that's what's great about this place.

Women and children should screw off and stay home.

Anyways, I was about to start eating, and then the bastard beside me goes "extra-large, with extra sauce."

Who in the world orders extra sauce nowadays, you moron?

I want to ask him, "do you REALLY want to eat it with extra sauce?"

I want to interrogate him. I want to interrogate him for roughly an hour.

Are you sure you don't just want to try saying "extra sauce"?

Coming from a Yoshinoya veteran such as myself, the latest trend among us vets is this, extra green onion.

That's right, extra green onion. This is the vet's way of eating.

Extra green onion means more green onion than sauce. But on the other hand the price is a tad higher. This is the key.

And then, it's delicious. This is unbeatable.

However, if you order this then there is danger that you'll be marked by the employees from next time on; it's a double-edged sword.

I can't recommend it to amateurs.

What this all really means, though, is that you, >>45437725, should just stick with today's special.

I mispronounce Cirno as "Sir-no" when in truth it's "Chir-ru-no" or something like that. I was an early adaptor of Touhou back in 2005 on old /a/ so my excuse is that there wasn't enough info. I've been pronouncing it wrong for so long that there's no way I can fix it. Same goes for Tewi who is pronounced "Tei". I pronounce it "Two-wii".

That's because people who speak like this have faggot english as main language which has horrible pronunciations for words. If your language is not spoken as it is written it is shit.

Some names I say wrong because a proper pronunciation sounds awful with English. Things like Reimu or Sanae can flow perfectly fine when said correctly but what the fuck am i supposed to do about "chiruno"/"chillno" or "furandoru"/"flandoll" without sounding like a total ass? Saying "seer-no" or "flan-durr" is a perfectly acceptable in-between if its in the middle of an English sentence.
