More to the point, it is possible to like cider and not beer, wine and not bread. To even put spirits in the same category is misleading as well. You aren't going to make the man like a drink he doesn't like by telling him that it's all the same.
Also the way the post is written highlights rice being as important to the taste as it being fermented, so I don't get why anyone is arguing that liking beer would make you like sake "Because it's just fermented grain". It's a fallacy derived from a generalisation.
