Gosh darn it. I'm trying to get Japanese books with furigana working on my ereader, and found a great tool that adds furigana to any epub. The issue is that for some reason my reader only detects the last "chapter" of the epub, which is the fucking licensing bullshit that gutenberg puts there. If I make the file a mobi file instead, instead of adding furigana it adds the hiragana of the word directly after it in the text which isn't exactly what I'm after.
