Patchouli kept her eyes on the ancient grimoire open in front of her, trying her best to tune out the sounds of Remilia's bored cavorting around the expansive library. The Voile was sufficiently lit as always, with scattered magical lamps providing light amidst the towering bookshelves. Though Patchouli never lifted her eyes from the text, she could sense Remilia swinging playfully on the iron chandelier overhead.

"Patchy! I'm communicating with my ancestors!" Remilia called out in her singsong voice, giggling as she dangled upside-down.

Patchouli simply turned a page, keeping her face an impassive mask. This was far from the first time the pipsqueak had disrupted her studies like this. Still, she couldn't help but wonder how long Remilia planned to keep this up...

Nearly ten minutes passed, with Remilia still hanging inverted on the chandelier. "Patchy..." she finally said, her voice taking on a slight whine. "My head feels funny..."

At this, Patchouli looked up, one eyebrow raised. Remilia's face had gone quite red from all the blood rushing to her head. Her skirt had also fallen prey to gravity, fully exposing the lacy white thong she wore beneath it. Rather bold for such a youthful frame.

Patchouli sighed, snapping her book shut. "That's what happens when you hang upside-down for so long, Remi," she said matter-of-factly. Still, she couldn't help but feel a flicker of amusement at the vampire's antics. Remilia was centuries old, but she behaved like a mischievous child at times, if not most of the time. And Patchouli had long since learned to accept such disruptions.

"Why don't you come down from there before you hurt yourself," Patchouli suggested, rising from her chair and holding out her arms. Remilia's eyes lit up at the prospect of being caught, and she released her feet's grip on the chandelier. Patchouli effortlessly plucked the petite vampire out of the air, placing her in a princess carry.

"There. Is that better?" Patchouli asked, blowing a few strands of hair out of her face. She kept her tone gentle yet stern, as one might use with an unruly child. Which Remilia often still was, despite her age.

"I suppose so," Remilia sighed, reaching down to tug her skirt back into place. A bit of color still lingered on her pale cheeks. "I was just so bored!"

"Well, find something quiet to occupy yourself," Patchouli instructed. "Some of us are trying to study." She returned to her chair after putting the spoilt imp down, picking up her book once more. Remilia scampered off, presumably to find some new amusement, and Patchouli lightly shook her head in wry exasperation. The girl would likely be back to bother her again before long. Sometimes, the witch felt like she was some sort of surrogate caretaker.
