So I went ahead and got myself these.

I'm new to all this Touhoushit, in which order should I play them?

>> No.4484040

Just go in numerical order, but skip 7.5 and 10.5.

>> No.4484049

PCB first, then IN

>> No.4484057

>>4484033
IN and MF are the easiest.

Also, the first few scenes of StB are addictive and will make you like the genre.

>> No.4484051

In whichever goddamn order you want you aimless fuckfurter.

>> No.4484058

Play EoSD, learn twitch dodging
Play PCB, learn resource management
Play IN, gain muscle memory
Play MoF, learn bombing
Play SA, learn staying calm in panicked situations
Play UFO, learn to accept dying.

PCB Normal with SakuyaA is a good start.

PCB is a start as good as any.

>> No.4484069

Story of Eastern Wonderland first

>> No.4484071

I started with SA, because on IN I went obsessive over scoring and kept dying trying to maintain my meter near the extremes. =P

12.3

play them in order.

So you started with IN. Typical of an emoticon faggot.

So you started with IN.

oh well.

Get the fuck out.

>> No.4484115

Marisa is so popular.

>> No.4484123

It's funny that Marisa is the icon for StB despite not even being in the game. Also why don't you try all of them once and then choose when you've played them all a bit?

>> No.4484174

>>4484123

Takes too much time. Specially since it's eleven motherfucking games.

>> No.4484189

>>4484174
Well, now that you downloaded all of them why not play them as well?

>> No.4484195

>>4484174
From a beginner's point of view...

PCB > IN > MoF > EosD > SA > UFO

All of the others are significantly different from the main line, and should be interpretted as such.

>> No.4484201

New to Touhou? You sure as fuck shouldn't be on /jp/. Reported.

>> No.4484205

>>4484189
Whatever makes you think I won't?

I just want to know if there is a clear consensus on the order in which one should play them, like with Zelda or FF.

>> No.4484211

>>4484205
Numerical order, you fucking faggot.

>> No.4484226

>>4484205
If you read all the history behind every game and all the characters profiles before playing, the order doesn't matter.

But if you are asking which one you should play first because of plot and stuff you should start by the PC-98 ones.

>> No.4484294

>>4484226

I have been told that the plot in the PC-98 games doesn't really connect with the Windows ones, and that with the exception of the first game, all the gameplay experience of the ancient ones is the same in the new ones but executed better.

I have also been informed that if you already know about the characters, then it doesn't matter if you don't play them in order, apparently because the plot is pretty simple and linear or at least that's what I have been told.

Since I see you guys circlejerking over them everyday I have had the chance to read some doujins, learns some names and get to know the relations of the characters.

I only got the games to get some gameplay and backrounds really.

>> No.4484307

>>4484294
Play PCB first. Then play the rest in whateverthefuck order.

>> No.4484324

It doesn't really matter. Play whichever one grabs you first.

>> No.4484347

>>4484294
You did the right thing. It's not just a matter of circlejerking.

When I got interested in touhou I spent 2 whole days searching and learning everything I could while still lurking here. Touhouwiki helped me a lot to understand all the plot behind everything and all the characters profiles. We need more people that go after things instead of waiting to be mouth-fed. And those who mouth-feed them are even worse.

>> No.4484414

Alright, so by your answers the most consensual order by difficulty would be:

PCB/IN
MoF/SA
EoSD/UFO

With each pair decided by coin toss or something.

I assume the either the gameplay or plot must differ in UNL, PFV, IaMP, StB and SWR since you guys don't seem to be in terms with those.

If I arrange them by chronological release and insert the divergences I guess the most leveled order would be:

PCB
IN
SA
MoF
EoSD
UFO
IaMP
PFV
StB
SWR
UNL

That should do.

Thanks to everyone who took their time.

Wish me luck.
