-Amatsun has received her Kai-II. It requires level 73, 1BP, and 1AR.
-Teru Teru Bouzu can now be exchanged for rewards. One of these is a Sea Colored Ribbon which provides +1 torp and armor to the secretary ship at the time of consumption. They cannot be transferred.
-There are 4 new permanent quests. There is 1 new seasonal quest which rewards a White Ribbon that increases a ship's FP and Evasion by +2.
-New and returning Summer CGs and voice lines have been implemented. New furniture has been added. There is a UI update that show ships in the dock as "in repair" in the ship list. The expedition returned notification now also shows the fleet name and expedition number. The Sendai-class and several destroyers have received slight stat buffs.
-As of the Feb 28, 2020 maintenance, due to critical DDoS attacks, measures have been taken that requires players from certain countries to use a Japanese IP address to connect to the Login servers. After getting to the start screen it's possible to disconnect from the VPN and continue playing without it. If you still encounter connection issues try clearing your cache and changing your time zone to JST. These countermeasures will remain until further notice. EN EO now bypasses the block. Another possible workaround is using https://github.com/Tibowl/KCCacheProxy

I don't like gacha games.
KanColle's aesthetics are in my opinion head and shoulders above other games inspired by it. Sure, this game doesn't have fancy live2d or whatever but I find the music, mood and character design to be way more tasteful even if you have some dumb stuff here and there.
Gfl has girls and elements I like but the aesthetics clash inelegantly with the writing and sometimes the writing seems to be aimed at shit I dislike. Kinda based for letting you get the badgirls though.
AL is just a soulless ripoff that goes too hard in the lewd direction to the point I no longer find the designs alluring.
Same with Blue Archive and how stupid the premise feels to me, the mobs with hime cut are pretty cute I guess.
Nikke or whatever it's called just strikes me as gfl but for semenbrains and sex appeal aside only the mass-production nikkes are kind of my cup of tea. Well, maybe that edgelord girl with the metallic tail also gets some of my attention but not enough to make me genuinely interested.
Granblue has a fun fighting game but I'd rather play an rpg over the gacha, World Flipper has cute robot girls but the pinball theme doesn't interest me.
Uma Musume would be the closest since I really like a decent amount of the girls even if the idolshit it has feels out of place.

Oh yeah, nothing compares to the abyssal fleet in those other games also, one of the major reasons why I got interested in the game. They have many imitators but they all miss the point. I guess the nyto and sangvis factions from gfl aren't half-bad but they don't have the variety or haunting beauty of them.

Yeah, I should've been more specific with that. I just don't really care about the girls in Blue Archive but their schoolgirls just don't feel as down to earth as some of the schoolgirls in KC. Also some of them like the bunnygirls/maids just feel like indeed they're trying too hard to be aimed at semenheads, a maid isn't inherently sexual yeah but when there's very little that's remarkable about the design then it is kinda obvious where the priorities were.
tl;dr I don't find the designs intriguing beyond "she's sexy/moe" which most anime girls already do to put it simpler.

I do like these things though, they're cute and silly.

I do find Maya to be pretty badass looking so she's got more going on in her design. Mutsu is indeed in the sexier side of things just like most of her artist's designs but her being close to Nagato helps her a bit to have more personality as a satellite character to her.

Mutsu and Nagato may show a lot of skin, but i think the thing is they still manage to look like warriors.There surely are some somewhat over the top designs like Shimakaze, but many of the shipgirls at least look like they would be able to move fast enough to fight in what they wear. (Though Kongou for example would mess up her elaborate dress in no time)
Compare that to pic related, and forgive me the AL posting: AL Akagi looks like she is one or two hasty moves away from giving the other shipgirls some nipples to see. Not really a halfway convincing getup you would wear in battle, and she and Kaga are still miles away from being the worst offenders.

But I do acknowledge the point. The older CGs feature ships getting OBLITERATED. Smoke coming from the guns, lotsa skin showing, and an expression of discomfort. There are still plenty of minimal damaged CGs from the original batch. Many newer CGs make heavy damage look more like a minor inconvenience. I don't think the consensus has been to heavily tone down the damaged versions. It seems more of an artist's stylistic choice.
