I'm not sure if anyone can even use the Castlevania Sakuya card besides Sakuya herself. Even she herself can often be better with the Black Youmu card herself since she can max out her crit damage easily anyway. I actually got a maxed out copy back in the day with the old VS battle system so now I will have a 2nd copy for sure.

The earliest meta character was Youmu on day 1 of the jap version. She was the only character who could max out her attack and she also had an AoE LW. Most of the other characters didn't do anything, Reimu was still in her original version so she did no actual damage, same as Yukari. Almost no one could even inflict frost so Cirno had almost nothing to break. Medicine was the only character who could do anything status related that can actually impact battles.

Jap version is still running low on characters that are left. They will probably pad out the month with the Prismrivers but then they have to do something else again. Unless I am forgetting someone, the only characters left who were shown in the game but are not playable are: PC-98 Reimu/Marisa, Yumemi, Mima, the dragon version of Marisa/Remi/Flan, Blind Eirin, that green colour Suika, Rinnosuke, base Miyoi and the sealing club dorks. There are also a whole bunch of MV characters but those usually don't get released in quick order.

I actually like the gameplay, it's a fun mix of casual yet requiring strategy, it's fun to figure out the best way to beat a stage (or to even set up a farm for example). For me the only aspect that kind of sucks is having to farm story cards but you can literally just leave your phone on and go do something else so it's not that bad... Gachas aren't inherently bad unless you're a fucking idiot who spends money on them. I'm grateful for the people who do though, I don't want this game to stop existing like Touhou Cannonball did, it has a lot of personality for a Touhou gacha and I want to see it go on.

I like the rebirth costumes being wedding dresses actually, it means I can get neuron activation from pretending that the 2hu in question is mai waifu.
But it does sorta make sense, since it's tedious enough to actually get there most of the time, you only really ever do it for characters you like (Or I guess for powermaxxing, but that's a whole different spec ed class of autists), so having a more personal connection is nice in a way.

Also, people who care about being called secondaries will never move past it, I stopped caring months ago and haven't been called one except as a generic insult since I disagreed with someone on something, you know how it is.

I can also understand why they took that approach; Remember, they have to make sure that none of the characters are inherrantly unlikeable, and cutesokyo, as much as I don't like it all that much, fulfills the criteria better and more easily than any other method.

It's all balanced out by the fact that those characters need a lot of support to truly get going. Kanako and Sanae have the strongest base power of their LW but they have 0 buffs on their own. Cirno also needs help with stuff like accuracy and her own buffs actually decrease her damage.
