Yes, absolutely. That wasn't criticism, if anything I think it's a good thing. She shouldn't focus on succeeding her mother nor should she try to be her, she should be the best voice actress she can be, and that seems like her focus.

One thing I think she is doing wrong is that I think she associates herself too much with her mother and is constantly posting stuff with the two of them together. I'm not saying she's doing that as self promotion, it may just be because the two of them are close, but I think overly associating herself with her Mom looks bad. I'm not saying there's anything morally wrong with it, even if they were just blatantly riding the coat tails, I'll just get that clarification out of the way first.

I don't know the younger Koyasu's work so I'm not going to comment on him, I actually didn't know his name and for some reason thought he hid his relationship to his father, although I did know his son was also working as a VA. Honoka I honestly feel like she's above average, has a good range and is a pretty good singer. The thing with the association with her mother is that it instantly makes her relevant, which is good for her, but on the other hand it gives people a reason not to take her seriously.

Second generation seiyuu are not a new thing and there's nothing wrong with it (If anything I think it's nice that she wants to follow in her mother's footsteps), but I think her pushing her association too far is starting to work against her, even if it's not her intention. When it really comes down to it I'd rather she end up being view like Akio Otsuka who was second generation, but it ultimately ends up being more of an afterthought than anything rather than being defined by it in the long term.

If you look through her social media it looks like somewhere between 1/3rd to 1/2th of all of the pictures she posts are her and her mother. There's nothing wrong with that and she does seem to be legitimately close with her Mom, and honestly that makes me happy. Having said that I don't think that I don't think that sort of thing is going to make people think of her as "Honoka Inoue the talented seiyuu" over "Kikuko Inoue's daughter".

The voice actor advocacy group Voiction has opposed Japan's controversial new invoice system ever since it was announced. According to surveys it conducted from September to October last year, 76% of voice actors self-reported an income of less than 3 million yen, and 27% responded that they might go out of business due to the invoice system.

To explain the potential issues with the system, which will go into effect in October this year, the group has produced a short animated series. The group began streaming the first episode on its Twitter and YouTube accounts on Friday.

The first episode introduces the system and debunks a common misconception that the law was created to address tax evasion by small businesses. It is not a profit tax, and the amount businesses pay is not a deposit.

Veteran voice actor Kōichi Yamadera is among the talents publicly supporting the initiative. "I think this is a huge issue that affects not just the voice-over industry but small businesses of all professions," he said. "Before getting into whether I agree or disagree with the system, I felt it was necessary to properly understand how it works and the issues involved. We don't have much time to start, but I would like to learn from this video and other experts properly."

Under the new invoice system, freelancers and sole proprietors will lose their tax-exempt status because invoices will be subject to consumption tax. According to a manga industry survey, 98% of respondents were sole proprietors, and among them, 20.6％ reported that they fear that the invoice system will force them to go out of business.

Manga artist turned legislator Ken Akamatsu said that he is focusing on changing the law if problems arise after its implementation.
