Hello, this Christmas day, the 25th, I plan on hosting a Touhou themed Terraria server. The time I plan on putting it up is 7 PM EST. Around the time it goes up I will post the server IP and password to join. Terraria is a 2D sprite-based game that allows for robust character customization, so it's quite easy to make a Touhou in it. I do this in the hopes that I can recreate a similiar experience that we've had in the past when Terraria was hosted a few years ago during the time of the MTA threads.

I think it's owed to the fact that terraria's movement and combat mechanics do not suit a bullet hell very well. Gravity, upward movement, character momentum, and having to mouse aim makes fighting those kinds of bosses not very fun. The movement simply isn't responsive enough for fine maneuvering, and hitting anything fast with a mouse is very difficult with projectile spread and gravity.

The version in the download link and the one being used to host is GOG 1.4.4.9, so I'm not sure if it has to be exactly that, or at least steam 1.4.4.9. If you're using steam but it's not the same version number, that may be why it can't connect, at least one person in the server is using a steam copy.

Its not Sven Coop, but I have been thinking of hosting a game of BallisticNG this coming Friday. There is some Touhou liveries for ships and some fumo ships you can choose from. I know it sounds like a bit of stretch as far as /jp/ games related games are concerned, but it could be amusing for a few hours. There is even Akina mountain in this!

The game is DRM free so you can just borrow mine. Both Steam users and borrowed copy users can play. The game is small by today's standards even with hundreds of custom ships and tracks (4.35gbs) and most toasters can run it. 16 Players can join in one lobby. Post if you are interested.

All Right. Below is the Download + Mods if you want to give a spin before hand. This game is suited for a gamepad with analog triggers and sticks but keyboard is doable. Arrow keys + WAD/E to steer/pitch and airbrake/throttle/boost respectively. Drop items with LShift, and use items with spacebar by default. Look behind with Q and change camera with C. There is a simple tutorial in the campaign to get acquainted.

Mess around with the settings. I left on default what should work for most, but set the resolution and FPS cap of your monitor to fit what's best.

If you use Steam Goldberg, you can spoof a name if you really want too. Otherwise, I couldn't find a obvious way to change it .

It wont be an issue come race time since you can make a name before you join multiplayer lobbies. You make your name there.

Neat. Thanks! Though, these being full compilation mp3s you will most likely will not hear the track you want to hear since most of the races brief. I can see why its a compilation, since including all the tracks separately will result in hundreds of track choices. But you might want to select your own choice of tracks and put it in the folder. MP3, .WAV, .FLAC or .OGG will work for the Ingame Music folder.
