Basically things go back to normal except Bazett is back and Caren is there for a bit. The last scene called sequel is the new timeline for F/HA. The timeline from F/SN and F/HA are different due to the Rin jewel incident separating that timeline to a new one that has Saber the others living in that world.

>> No.41874578

>>41874551
Rin's jewel incident is just a gag/red-herring. It doesn't actually cause a new timeline. F/HA simply takes place during a different non-F/SN route (as hinted by Medea's memories of the Grail War)

I thought it was real due to Rin referring to it during the Clock Tower? She went back to look for a way to fix it or maybe I’m misremembering it. It’d make the whole thing make more sense as a world that had anything that could happen possible there due to the second magic relating to timelines.

>> No.41874985

>>41874957
Well, the implication with the jewel incident is that all possible routes merged into one super-route. But as we see from people's memories, that isn't exactly the case. To me the intro of F/HA comes off more as a gag or skit, and not an actual plot point.

>> No.41874987

>>41874578
>F/HA simply takes place during a different non-F/SN route (as hinted by Medea's memories of the Grail War)

Wasn't it a plot point that each servant had a completely irreconcilable memory of what happened during the war (when compared to the memories of other servants), therefore cluing you in that the world isn't real?

>> No.41875165

>>41874985
I mean it makes it make more sense with the world of F/HA being a mix of different memories and characters from different timeline due to the jewel incident with Caster having memories of the Fate route due to Kuzuki’s death against Gil during her flashback and Shirou having UBW memories due to Saber’s fate being talked about at the end of the grail war.

Hello typemoon friends.

>> No.41875776

>>41875165
I mean, it's plausible but Medea and Kuzuki's death in F/HA doesn't happen in F/SN. Both her and Kuzuki get GoB'd by Gilgamesh at Ryuudou Temple. Which is *somewhat* similar to what happens in the Fate route, but Kuzuki doesn't get killed by Gilgamesh in the Fate route, and Medea dies in Emiya's backyard, not the temple.

So I don't think every route got merged together, making every single thing true at the same time. F/HA's intro comes off more as a gag in retrospect, because we know that everything is Bazett's dream. That's why I'm saying it's a red herring, it wants you to believe that the odd events in F/HA are due to every timeline merging together from the jewel incident, but in reality, the odd events are just caused by the fact that everyone is stuck Bazett's dream. There is a real world out there with it's own route and own events regarding the HGW, and nothing is inherently tied to F/SN.

Kara no Kyoukai literally translates to “Empty Boundaries” referencing the Taoist concept that distinctions between things are all ultimately psychological constructs and therefore nonexistent. The simplest way to explain this would be to ask, “How high is high?” We might look at a balloon soaring away and say it’s “high,” but there isn’t a clear threshold at which point it transitions from being “not high” to being “high.” Our distinction between “not high” and “high” is a relative, psychological one rather than a concrete one, and consequently Taoism holds that there is fundamentally no difference between something that is “high” and something that is “not high.”
This gets much more abstract, of course, with the Taoist philosopher Zhuangzi’s writings containing phrases like “There is nothing in the world bigger than an autumn hair.” If you’re familiar with the relatively famous quotation about a Chinese philosopher dreaming he was a butterfly and then wondering whether he was actually a butterfly dreaming it was a philosopher, that also comes from Zhuangzi. When I say distinctions between things don’t exist, I do mean all distinctions, and not just the arbitrary ones. It amounts to an “everything is one” concept, though it’s not quite as simple as that distillation makes it sound.
Kara no Kyoukai is filled with paradox, with characters who are both alive and dead, shadows so novel they’re boring, outfits that are simultaneously traditional and Eastern and modern and Western. Nasu uses paradox to break down distinctions between things, forming a foundation of Taoist thought that runs underneath everything in the novel and that helps to establish who is “good” and who is “bad.”

The characters who adhere strongly to rigid, Confucian societal structures are “bad,” or at least nearsighted, while the seemingly lazy, eccentric, whimsical characters who accept the world as it is and go where their natures take them are “good.”
Confucianism is consistently cast as a very bad thing in Nasu’s work. It roughly corresponds to the concept of materialism, though not so much materialism in the traditional capitalist sense as in the literal sense. In Nasu’s writing, a focus on the physical world and on societal approval is connected with moral and spiritual decay and often obscures the truth. The alternative to this, which usually uses Taoist or Buddhist concepts as something of an objective correlative, is a focus on the mind and on one’s internal world. Pursuing knowledge out of personal curiosity is good; pursuing knowledge for societal approval is bad. Collecting things for a love of the collection is good; collecting things out of a desire for material wealth is bad, and so on.
All of this holds true more-or-less throughout the Nasuverse. Nasu sometimes draws on Buddhist concepts or images in place of Taoist ones, but the concept of paradox holds strong, along with the sense that distinctions between things do not exist, and regardless of whether Buddhism or Taoism is the framing system of thought, Confucianism is thoroughly negative.
Nasu’s core thematic question, though, extends beyond this use of Taoist ideas. Rather, Nasu’s basis in Taoist thought is the framework against which his core internal debate is set.

Didn't read UBW?

Notice how for every route, the tackled characters are the ones that connect in some way. Like in UBW: Assassin, Archer, and Shirou are fakes, Caster betrayed like Archer was, Kuzuki's view of right and wrong in comparison to Shirou view and Archer's... etc.

Kirei is obvious as the anti-shirou, Saber and Gil are also likewise two different sides of the same coin and in turn shine a further light on Shirous heroic ideals.

Archer (EMIYA) makes for a good foil representing what shirou could become if he fails, and is a wonderfully detestable person when called for.

Shinji's foil of Gilgamesh and the anti-Sakura. Gilgamesh can achieve any of his goals and despises humans. Shinji can never achieve his goals and doesn't hate humans. But both strive for life affirmation from an external source and will never be content. And where Sakura blames herself for the world's problems, Shinji blames the world for his own problems.

Rider's motivations are in parallel with Sakura's (as is every servant with their master should be). She's a monster like Sakura is. She wants to protect Sakura like how Sakura wants to protect Shirou.

Even the side characters like Caster and co have something to them and further add to the elements concerning the main character (nurture vs nature being the big one with Caster and Kuzuki, while Kojiro as minor as he is represents what obsession can do to a person)

The entirety of KnK is about a lot of things, depending on the chapter, because it's a messy story, but the overarching theme is about death and the taijiu (as in the parallels between two things existing in equilibrium and also, being the diagram of the supreme ultimate, Akasha). Tsukihime is about the value of life theme Shiki has going on. F/sn is about Shirou overcome a false origin (swords / blade works).

Fate/Stay Night (outside of the routes, take the whole story as a complete set: introducing Shirou in Fate, exploring his mind in UBW, giving him a conclusion in HF) and Fate/Zero explore similar themes. It's about two boys who wanted to be an ally of justice without realizing that they can't measure all lives equally because it meant to love them all equally and a person doesn't do that. Kiritsugu realized this too late. Shirou realized it sooner. That's the gist of it to me.

FSN had themes - individual justice vs common good, the right to a life despite the consequences, obsession with fixing past mistakes vs accepting the past, guilt vs conviction etc etc. Other major elements include guilt complex, childhood trauma, martyr complex, domestic violence, unwanted pregnancy and abortion, moral relativism, revenge, loss, guilt, finding purpose and family. HF true is foreshadowed the entire Fate route and HF route, with Kotomine and Illya telling you bit by bit about the Third Magic, “Heaven’s Feel.” And finally ending F/SN with "I'll show you the sorcery that people have been talking about all this time."

FZ had themes - one for all leadership vs all for one leadership, morality vs pleasure, chivalry as a moral code vs chivalry as an excuse for slaughter, etc etc

The waifus are there for the ride

Surveyanon likes to copy-paste lengthy essays other people have written and then dump them into conversations where they barely correspond to the context of said conversation. That's how you know the second post is his. For the first one, you know that it's him because it's highly unlikely a Zerofag would come here. Surveyanon needed an excuse to post that essay there so he invented his own casus belli as it were.

>Uro: Unlike Fate/Zero, where all the main characters are older, this one has lots of cute heroines! Fate/stay night was originally conceptualized as a bishojo game, so the very individual theme of "romance" was placed at the core. It had to be written from Shirou's point of view. So then I thought, I have this really powerful core idea of all these Eiyuu (heroic spirits) engaged in a Battle Royale, so why not draw their story from multiple point of views? That's why I tried to work more main characters into Fate/Zero other than simply Kiritsugu and Kirei.

>Nasu: I had no other choice but to make Fate/stay night the way I did for that bishojo game format. That was one of the reasons why I once said to Urobuchi, "I don't think I can make bishojo games anymore." The more you pour both what the author wants to draw and romance elements that will excite the users into a work, the more distant they get from each other... that was my dilemma. I think Fate/stay night does lack that "battle royale" atmosphere, but I really wanted to make it a work that would make the users want to get to know Saber and Rin better, or cuddle with Sakura.

"but I really wanted to make it a work that would make the users want to get to know Saber and Rin better, or cuddle with Sakura."

This is the core reason why FSN and Zero/Strange Fake such different audiences. FSN is a dating sim for mentally stunted boomers. Zero and Strange Fake are simply good stories set in the Fate universe.

Everyone forgets that Nasu's background isn't in writing. He got his start in storytelling by DMing in pen and paper RPGs. According to Takeuchi, he was known in his circles for writing extremely elaborate campaigns with engrossing plots (which is what caused Takeuchi to push him into trying his hand at formal writing in high school).

That's why Fate expanded so easily. The Holy Grail War was blatantly envisioned as a tabletop RPG engine meant as a tool for the DM to tell stories within. The stat pages in the original VN make no attempt to hide that they're character sheets. Hell, it even has a bunch of skills like "Protection from Arrows" that are clearly leftover from the RPG phase.

Modern Fate is functioning exactly as Nasu always intended it to. The original VN was one of many potential stories that could be told within the framework he set up. Hell, the second story Nasu himself told using it was a version with rules modified for a sci-fi setting. Even Grand Order takes the class system and applies it to a more traditional pen and paper-style "party adventure" format.

I'm not even sure what you're referring to. Pretty much every story takes place in its own unique timeline, and how those timelines work is explained pretty meticulously. This isn't even some cop out he came up with after the fact, it's been explained since all the way back in the Tsukihime Plus Disc.
That aside, the baseline "rules" across these various worlds has always been pretty consistent. And any variations that arise are usually explained at length (e.g. the difference between and Fate and Tsukihime worlds).

"Consistent" That's just because Nasu is a nip who doesn't think ahead very much and so he barely explains shit in a concrete enough way that future "changes" can't be regarded as simply him not explaining it so much initially. It's not like TM utilizes some deep and scientific and rigid take on magic or anything really. He clearly retconned something as fundamental as the world setting itself with Tsukihime becoming the foundation of a different type of TM world when it was all originally the same. Personally I think that's an example of a good retcon because Fate has become too divorced from old TM and that the retcon doesn't actually impact the soul of the stories but rather acts to preserve. In general I think if a writer retcons often though... that it is a sign of being super mediocre, not knowing what they want and lacking in fortitude.

No. It's deliberate, he never explains it so he can always write whatever about it later and keep making shit up as he goes. Im genuinely surprised there's people that didn't catch onto this and still give him the benefit of the doubt. There's no plan, he's just praying he can keep getting away with this shit and *SOMEHOW* it just keeps on working. It's kind of amazing.
>fate retcon
I don't mind good retcons like that where he just separates it, but he keeps relying on it to the point where investing any time into the lore feels like a waste - it's not concrete, it's not complete. It never will be as the author is just spitting in the audience's face.

I thought so too. Ciel later stated she used the Gothic Fort twice, against Vlov and Arcueid, so she couldn't use it again as the magical energy is spent. Meaning she fully used it against Arc.
Ciel also mentions the scale of existences in the magical world in that same scene. Guess who is the smallest, yet heaviest being? Yes, it's Arcueid herself. So actually showing Arc proving her superiority over a massive, yet large thing goes along with the scene's narrative. It's not a coincidence Ciel mentioned those things. It's pretty good writing.

Well if it wasn't finished then they'd be right. Though there isn't any indication it wasn't complete so they're wrong. However it did seem like Ciel was planning to compress the cathedral even further so I suppose you could say that wasn't necessarily the limit of the ability as Arc broke it open before the lid was closed e.g before it was fully condensed. She mentioned it was big and heavy so perhaps she can make it small and heavy. But either way Arc clearly broke the Fort in this scene which is already enough to contain a DAA's curse so she's already doing something incredible.

I always thought her asking Mikiya to stay over because she wants to fugg was uncharacteristically realistic for an anime. Like anime couples seldom act like IRL couples.

I have a bit of a hard time imagining her getting her cheeks clapped by Mikiya of all people, though, like I can't imagine either her taking it or Mikiya giving it to her because of their personalities and how they mesh.

I've never been in a relationship with a woman that was more dominant or aggressive than I was, so I have a hard time imagining how couples like that (dominant woman, passive man) function/have sex even though I knew some couples with similar dynamics. Like, women don't really submit to a man in bed (let their cheeks get clapped) that they don't submit to as a woman outside of bed, in non-sexual situations, you know? Most women won't act like women with you if you let them make a woman out of you in the dynamic between the two of you.

Have you actually read F/SN or did you get all your knowledge from the wiki? You know this is just a detail that basically doesn't matter at all outside of Heaven's Feel at the very end right? You could replace "holy grail" with "generic super strong magic artifact that's curse" and the story would be almost exactly the same. the point is that this magical artifact and its history are central to the story and setup the entire plot.

in tsukihime you could quite literally remove every single mention of vampires and other supernatural shit and absolutely nothing would change.

You are an absolute fucking retard. Arc's entire character is contingent on her being a True Ancestor. The conflict between Arc and Roa is centered around her status as a True Ancestor. Ciel's entire character and backstory doesn't work without the concept of vampires. Sacchin's entire arc is her becoming a vampire. Roa makes no sense without being a vampire. The story never even happens without SHIKI's inversion impulse taking place, and there's no justification for Shiki's adoption into the family.

Arc's character is a typical sheltered rich girl and that is literally what nasu based her on from the very beginning. There is nothing intrinsic to her character that is incorrigible without the true ancestor bullshit. The same goes for the rest of the characters. No. The core of her character is the struggle she feels as a superior being who preys on the inferior (humans). She lusts for blood and feels guilt over it, especially after befriending Shiki, a human. She grows to enjoy living among humans, even though she knows she cannot ever truly be one of them, which causes her distress. Her driving motivation is to right the wrong she committed the sole time she did drink the blood of a human. This is probably bait but I actually agree.

I feel like /tmg/ has more productive discussions about Fate than any other TM work. But this is only because Fate has better world-building and more speculation related to it. It just has a larger scope than Tsukihime, which is ultimately a small-scope story about an amnesiac school boy who finds himself caught in Tohno family drama. Does that mean Fate is better than Tsukihime? No, it just generates more discussion. There isn't really much to speculate or discuss with Tsukihime (remake plot point changes aside), the story is fairly straight-forward.

Not really, it's not the 2000s anymore, the golden age of VNs is long past. There hasn't been a big time watershed VN release that got a bunch of new people into VNs in over 10 years.
Not just that, but the list of worthwhile translated VNs used to be pretty short. Now it's quite long. So for the few people who are getting into VNs, they have a ton of options, and there's not a lot to draw them to Tsukihime in particular. It's an old ass VN with "ugly" art, 10 music tracks and no voice acting. And now there's a brand spanking new half translated remake overshadowing it to boot.

I disagree you cannot have discussion and/or speculation from Tsukihime franchise alone, that is Tsukihime 1999 + KT + Melty Blood games (not Lumina) + Materials about Tsuki 2. Remake sure tweak things but to say Tsuki was a weak franchise years ago, is presumptuous. I don't know how it did sales wise, I'm sure it did well for a non-Steam VN release, but that's just it. It got barred from Steam, the sales are bound to be dogshit in comparison to VNs that made it onto that platform.
>is extremely popular
Where? According to what metric? It barely gets any fanart and what little there is, most of it has existed for the better part of the past decade. If you sort by popularity on vndb, it's not even on the front page. It's somewhere on page 2, which is basically where it's always been. If you search it on the archive here, or any board liable to discuss VNs, the results are pitiful. I don't have anything against Muramasa but pretending it was some massive game-changing success that brought a new audience to visual novels in the vein of titles like Fate or Steins;Gate is fucking delusional, even more so from a western perspective.
>Nekopara and more recently DDLC has caused a massive spike
No, not really. DDLC is a stupid bait and switch and most people that read Nekopara do it as a joke. VNs do well because now there are platforms for them to be sold to an international audience, not because there's some ballooning interest in them. There aren't any titles that are so prolific that they instantly spawn a rabid fanbase that draws new eyes to not only the title but the medium. Titles like this were a dime a dozen in the period from 2000-2009, and it was the medium as a whole, not just a single genre. Fate, Higurashi, Clannad, Muv Luv, Steins;Gate, Saya no Uta, etc. There are so many "babby's first VNs" from that period because of how popular the titles were, and how many were genuine introductions to the medium for a lot of people. You can't say the same about anything from the past decade. Katawa Shoujo was the most recent "babby's first VN" to be released, and it's over a decade old now.

VNs didnt do shit here, animation carried and made people interested, not a fair comparison. I never said it was as massive though - DDLC has done a better job in that regard, but it's absolutely true that Muramasa has drawn alot of new people in when compared to other plotge with no adaptations.
>not really
retard. It's still got a shitload of people interested, the entire buzz around Nekopara got people into moege, it's literally where VNs started to pick up any pace in the west. And yeah sure DDLC is a shit bait and switch but it was massive as a gateway, essentially the modern katawa shoujo except bigger when it came to expanding the fanbase. You can't say these didn't do shit just cause not everyone became a VN fanboy after or some people read them as a joke.
>there are platforms
platforms were always there, just no interest.
>how popular the titles were
When you've 5 translated plotge it does kinda make sense that they're all "popular" lmao. not too much to contend with. It's painfully obvious you haven't been to a single place that discusses VNs in the past few years, it's impossible to ignore all the people that started with DDLC. >Since when do westoids draw anything? I fail to see how this matters.
Since forever? Since when was fanart a uniquely western concept? I think you mean "since when does anyone in my circlejerk internet bubble draw anything?" In which case, you've got me there. And why wouldn't it matter? It's a direct reflection of popularity.
>VNs didnt do shit here, animation carried and made people interested, not a fair comparison
Did anime die? Why is that not a fair comparison? Maybe you should ask yourself why there aren't any adaptations of VNs into anime any more.
>but it's absolutely true that Muramasa has drawn alot of new people
All 55 of them.
>platforms were always there, just no interest.
Are you fucking kidding me? Are you comparing steam from 10 years ago to steam right now? No. None of these platforms, steam, gog, mangagamer whatever had a fraction of the reach/presence/userbase they have now.
> DDLC is the reason all of the current moeslop sells
Okay, and? You've completely lost sight of the argument, jackass. The point of contention here is why there aren't more newfags interested in reading stuff like Tsukihime. I guess it's my fault for glossing over it, but I already suggested that shit like DDLC and Nekopara isn't bringing a new audience to the medium as a whole, just to a specific subgenre. >since forever
lmao, westoids sure have produced a ton of visual novel related fanart over the years, uh-huh! Now count Umineko and fate out, uh-oh.. where's all that western art..?!
Fan art ain't an unique concept but western fan art for visual novels always was incredibly rare. Nowadays it's also heavily monetized - patreon, commisions, whatever - there's more than ever before but it's concentrated on the few popular series that sell.
>adaptations of VNs into anime
Unrelated to discussing popularity of VNs with adaptation vs those without. Also unrelated but LN adaptations are produced as ads to boost LN sales. I don't know the exact details but I imagine LNs are more profitable and less of a clusterfuck to adapt than shoving 60 hours into 12 episodes.
>platforms
Yeah but they were there, as you've said they had no userbase - there was no interest.
>okay and
Not everyone who got into VNs through DDLC or heard of them via Nekopara will pursue moeslop, I just mentioned that as it was a massive visible popularity bump. Furthermore even moefags are prone to branching off into charage and plotge eventually.
It's a blatant lie that people ain't into Tsukihime or Fate - even people that start with Tsukire are bound to get interested in the OG if they liked the remake. Many such cases if ddit vn sub posts are to be believed. And Fate has only gained popularity as years went by thanks to the continuous adaptations, the VN will never stop having an influx of fresh blood.
If it appears there's less discussions it's because they're happening on ddit or are spread across a multitude of discords - there's tons entirely dedicated to VN playthroughs. Alot of the time simply googling and reading old discussions/opinions will also suffice due to the accumulated amount. The new readers are also more spread out than back when Fate was first translated and everyone jumped on it - when there's 5 VNs available you'll see them brought up alot more than when there's 50.

So nothing, just like all your other claims. Got it.
>westoids sure have produced a ton of visual novel related fanart over the years
This is such a bizarre cope, Muramasa's fanart is pitiful in general and the western fanbase reflects that, because it's not anywhere near as popular as you're pretending it is.
>Now count Umineko and fate out
Two visual novels that were actually, genuinely popular among the western audience and grew it. But I guess it's just a coincidence that they got fanart from western artists.
>LN adaptations are produced as ads to boost LN sales
That's counterproductive to your argument, if your claim is that anime are only made as "ads" to the original work, then there's no reason for VN adaptations to have stopped. It's almost like the shit that was getting adapted 10-15 years ago had buzz and popularity to begin with, and the adaptations were being made to capitalize on and increase that.
>I imagine LNs are more profitable and less of a clusterfuck to adapt
lol which is it? You just said they were glorified ads, now they need to stand on their own and be profitable in their own right?
>Fate was first translated and everyone jumped on it - when there's 5 VNs available you'll see them brought up alot more than when there's 50.

>Two visual novels that were actually, genuinely popular among the western audience
What about all the other high popularity (on vndb) VNs? Where's the art? Umineko is far behind Grisaia yet it has far more art? Umineko has tremendous amounts of art because it attracts a particular well known crowd and Fate is just massive enough to garner a bunch of it. There's barely any western art for other VNs, iirc Saya and KS still get some but they've their own unique reasons too.
>then there's no reason for VN adaptations to have stopped
VNs are not as popular as they used to be in japan, and even if they were it's possible LNs are even more profitable still + as said, the ease of adaptation.
>which is it
Anime studios get funding for their projects, because LNs are profitable they can afford to pay more to get the ad out.

I didn't mean to say that less people will read it now, just that since there's more to discuss people do not have to circlejerk the same novel to have a conversation.

Yeah it gets overrated quite hard like muv luv, but it's not very good.

You can figure out the TWEEST very early on and then once you do the story doesn't have much to offer. It never changes it formula. It's like the writer had one idea and couldn't come up with anything else so he just repeated it over and over again.

Muramasa doesn't have much beyond it's edginess and suffering (a trait shared by the vast majority of visual novels). Same goes for Dies Irae. This is why there is next to zero discussion about those two vns despite the fact that they were hyped up for years and years by weebaboos.

Contrast this with FSN and Muv-Luv, two VNs which have generated countless amounts of discussion for nearly 20 years straight.

Tohno can in fact kill servants. When he killed Arcueid, 17 cuts landed in "an instant".
This is on the same level as 5th grail war Asassin's Tsubame Gaeshi. This is in fact canon. Non only that, but Arcueid was not able to notice she was being followed, nor feel any killing intent from Tohno until the blade already killed her. This is on the same level as asassin servant presence concealment.

In the official Tsukihime manga, Shiki was capable of slicing and killing lightning shot at him by Roa. A low estimate of the speed required for this would land at 96,000MPH, which is the atmospheric discharge of lightning at denser levels (closer to lower altitudes.) Tying together presence concealment, Zelretch level ability (flash sheath), and A class speed, Shiki could in fact stand a chance against most servants. His trump card that would place him above anything summoned under asassin card would be that he essentially has an instant kill move if he ever gets near, making him a very deadly oponent.

To use concrete evidence of Shiki proving himself time and time again, we can look at who in fact he has killed.

Nrvnqsr Chaos the 10th apostle. In one attack Tohno managed to kill all 666 of his lives.
Michael Roa Valdamjong, said to be immortal by traveling between Akasha and back, "reincarnating". Tohno severed his connection to Akasha, erasing his existance.

In the "Talk" side story for Tsukihime, Tohno manged to kill the forest of Einnashe, the seventh dead apostle. He also managed to kill Einnashe's reality marble.

This motherfucker beat up a FOREST, all ryougi ever did was beat up:
>a drug dealer she went to high school with
>a high schooler with a disability
>a terminally ill woman
>a hotel manager

I'll call massive fucking bullshit because from what I'm seeing from ancient screenshots and archives confirming my memory it was all about dumbfuck power level arguments and not what you imply
>can he erase the servant from existence
why the fuck couldn't he?
I guess the question is more about "what the fuck does it mean to "kill" a heroic spirit, which would actually be more about speculation but I have two theories

1-They just die instantly, physically, and their soul fuck offs back to the throne, as it is a place outside any possible logic of time and reason and doesn't care that a soul has "died", as the throne collects it anyway.
2-Just like Solomon, they disappear from the throne. I find this slighly more "logical" but way more unlikely, as I don't imagine Nasu wouldn't be satisfied with this, as its understandably more boring, as it implies that being erased from the throne could be done just like that instead of a huge fucking deal. Solomon had to Horus heresy'd himself on a spiritual level and Sherezade needed to erase the entire concept of mystics by droping Laputa on top of a moderm city to be fred from the throne. I can't imagine Nasu making light of the foundation of fate-type universes

So the higher level bit is probably just about having a frame better suited for it resulting in not dying when using it as well as being able to "overlook the landscape of death" whereas Shiki uses glasses... at least until he couldn't.

>Arcueid's route
Shiki defeats pic related Roa at the cost of loosing arcueid

Shiki turns out to be a reincarnation of Roa. Ciel was the previous reincarnation of Roa and tried to hunt Shiki down but ceased due to falling in love with him. Arcueid chimpouts and tries to kill Shiki, but its defeated instead and the boy sacrifices himself, using his death perception power to kill the roa inside him and dying in the arms of Ciel

Teleporting her is probably a no-go either. When Arcueid is outputting enough energy space and gravity begins to warp and she can become as dense as a star as the narration describes her. Moving that much mass is very hard to do. You'd have to be some cosmic god.

All Caster did was make his fists buff/strong so he could punch her armor and shit without breaking his bones. Depends on the work
In apocrypha you could see Astolfo, weak for servant standars, not giving half a shit about the chains his master had put him in during rape, and then you see the servants doing extremely fucking bonkers shits and flying around DBZ style in a way you never see in FSN

In Redline or FGO you have servants being absolutely untouchable by humans, evading bullets and being inmune to anything a mortal can throw but otherwise being way more limited than in apocrypha

In Extra, if we only consider the original psp game, they are are probably at their shittiest level and pretty much are just humans with really good skills, making it so an empress with autism and migraines or an evil fox housewife can defeat one of the strongest knights to have ever lived

Seriously, stop thinking about consistency. I think its pretty obvious that servant powers are whatever the fuck Nasu wants at each moment

Nice strawman, gachafag. FGO is garbage and that you admitting to liking it shows how trash your taste is. Good Nasu written stories have the MC written for it in mind and have the world and characters around him written with it in mind. FGO already fails as a story with the first chapters not even addressing this and having the MC be an inhuman camera that doesn't have any concern for their families or friends that died due to the incineration of humanity. The concept and investment in the story fails there if the audience can't relate or empahize with a character that doesn't show emotions besides superficial ones later on. FGO is a lazily-written and contrivance-ridden story that only sun-cost fallacy retards would enjoy.

Celenike has the hots for Astolfo and has kinky BDSM sessions with him in the yggdmilenia castle dungeon (and its implied she tortures homunculi to the point of death for pleasure). In the anime she's shown just rubbing all over Astolfo and licking his naked body while he's chained, and while he is mostly bored Astolfo doesn't seem to be really against it or put any opposition, but when he is dismissed he just proclaims "okay, seeya" and breaks the iron cuffs without effort as if they were made of paper before dressing and leaving

Apocrypha is quite interesting, as it is about the concept of "love between master and servant" and all the forms this love can take place, from the kind of "innocent first love" between sieg and jeanne, the love between a father and a son with Kairi and Mordred, adult saerious romance between Amakusha and Semiramis, respect between a teacher and a student between chiron andFiore or unrequited feelings from Fran to Caules. In the Case of Celenike its clearly impure lust. Makes me wonder how the fuck would have people reacted if instead of a hot girl and a funny trap it would have been a Man as the master licking the body of a young girl servant

>Nah they just freeza the planet and watch her suddenly have no support
Anon, planck length is the highest point for energy itself. To give you a perspective an atom compressed to planck length has the same mass as a star. In this scene in Ciel's route the entirety of this ball of light you're seeing is compressed to planck length. You can have quadrillions of solar masses and it's still going to be less than a drop compared to the enegy Arc is manipulating in this very scene. Arc can unironically beat Frieza by raising her energy density high enough.
>Even Ciel says you need a weapon capable of destroying the planet to defeat her
A conceptual weapon accorrding to Ciel. Yet in Ciel's True we saw Arc being able to remove the conceptual death of the planet with Event Storage, so even that isn't a sure win.
>Absolutely not necessary since most teleportation in fiction is merely herp derp you move
Depends but I think you'd need to have the feats to actually be able to teleport something with the density of a star or higher. Those aren't easy to come by. Also bear in mind past a certain point in terms of magical energy you can pretty much warp reality. Tiamat for example has 7 Grails worth of magical energy and she can travel between stars.

No, he killed the world itself on a conceptual level. Also, a Reality Marble is already a world that's falling apart and much lesser than the current world that's far more well stablished.
Besides, Shiki frying his brain has never been a factor, it literally never happened.

Another bullshit answer from Nasu.
Shiki has one (1) arm to swing with.
The physical range of his swing is rather short.
His physical strength and agility are very impressive for a human but that's it, less than Shirou can leech by tracing (I can't imagine Shiki even being able to lift up Heracles' axe-sword let alone swing it).
So how the fuck is he supposed to defend against dozens of swords being fired at him at once when even Lancelot was limited to what, 20? There is a limit to how many individual swords he can cut up a second, and because the swords are individual he has to cut them individually.

So can Vlov actually. And those Ice Spears went up against Ciel's Rifle. Shiki handled the barrage easily the second time because getting grazed by a few started to make Nanaya come out and we all know how ridiculous even him going a little Nanaya is. Arc, Nero, Roa Shiki, saving Noel and so on come to mind.

Even blind, mystic eyes users can still see death and the guys point is Shiki isn't going to typically die mid battle from it because that's boring. As for tanking or insta breaking... killing something instantly stops their momentum and stuff so him slicing the line of a projectile means he doesn't have to deal with the followup. It's quite a useful defensive tool in that regard.

And he killed the world in the area. I don't think just destroying a leyline would do much to Arc's ability to draw vitality of the stars.

As for the actual scenario. I think Nasu is probably right. If Shiki gets close it's GG and unless Shirou pulls out something with collateral damage I think he'd lose. Though now that Shiki can just kill things at range in remake...

Eh. It also depends which route Shirou I guess - there's technically nothing stopping him from tracing broken phantasm or simply a gun/grenade like in prillya. If Shirou goes full Kiritsugu like this I dunno if Shiki has any viable answer - it'd come down to enviro with closed spaces favoring Shiki.
>killed the world in the area
This makes no sense to me if it wasn't a leyline to be desu, it goes so much above everything else he's done - how the fuck does he visualize the world's death and how does it only work on the vicinity and not the whole thing? Him killing the magical energy/nature in the area also seems to fit in with leyline descripts
>vitality of the stars
I fail to see how stabbing the ground would let him do this regardless lol

>> No.41907760

>>41907721
>Him killing the magical energy/nature in the area also seems to fit in with leyline descripts
Arc's back up is different from leylines, which are just the magical energy in the (surface) area. Arc has a connection to the leylines but it's not her lifelink. Her source of vitality comes from the Celestial Egg.
There is a reason FGO separates territory creation (leylines) and world back up (Ultimate One). They are entirely different things.
