Vtubers have no appeal. The women behind the avatar are attention seeking sluts looking to make a cheap buck from lonely men online. There is no sincerity in their actions. They are motivated by greed and don't care about ruining the lives of their viewers to keep making money. But even if we ignore the woman behind the avatar, their terrible character and all, we're still left with a terrible stream and ugly avatars. React content, poorly playing video games, or talking to other vtubers is all they do. React content is already bottom of the barrel stream content but vtubers take it to another level by relying on the tired anime style overreactions to everything. Yelling, face expressions, just kill me. And not only are they bad the games they play but they play the worst games too. Genshin, kill me. And when they talk to other vtubers it's them taking slice of life content to a new low. At least in that sort of anime there's a script. But these women can't hold an interesting or captivating conversation if their life depended on it. And all their avatar designs are pseudo-3d trash with lighting effects and hair/breast physics and so on. Just make it stop. Stop giving these women attention. Stop supporting their brands. Don't listen to their music or play their games. Just stay away from it. You are part of the problem if you engage with their content, give them views, recommend channels, etc. Don't even use their videos for immersion content if you are trying to learn Japanese. Go cold turkey if you're already viewing and use this post as a warning if you're considering joining in.

What's he's saying is anime applies to fictional characters. Yes vtubers play animated characters, but the streamer behind the model is real. When they die or quit the vtuber identity and all their parasocial shit goes with them. Not even the most involved seiyuu have this level of constant real life interaction unless they're idols.
You can't donate to an anime character's onlyfans or stalk them on the internet cause they're strictly in the realm of 2d, that's the key difference.
