4094820 No.4094820 [Reply] [Original]

I've been playing Tsukihime lately, and just finished Akihas route. Needless to say both endings left me feeling depressed. Am I in for more of the same with the other two Far Side routes?

>> No.4094829

Yes.

>> No.4094836

No they are more like routes from any nukige.

You are going for the original VN emotional rollercoaster.
Also, Akiha's true end has a sequel story in Kagetsu Tohya that you might want to read.

This is why far side routes are so much more superior.
On top of having 50% of sacchin route, the other routes have so many emotional rollercoaster while the near side routes are just like Twilight.

I only have Kohaku's route left myself, the endings have been very well done if I do say so myself.
Hisui's one after reading all the other tame routes was soul crushing.

(Eyes open for picture with this post, you know it won't end well.)

Good show.

Don't take it too seriously.
It is just a saying on how often "the vampire in love plot" is done.
I liked the near side routes as well but the far side routes just blow them out of the water.

I learned a few things from Tsukihime:

Never ever try to fuck your sister. Adopted or not, there is no happy ending. There will be blood.

Maids are alright, but never go for the shy, quiet one. She's fine, she doesn't need you. If you ever do attempt to fuck the shy quiet maid, everyone else you love will die. Just don't. The loud boisterous maid needs you way more anyways.

If you have a debilitating wound that killed you once and threatens to drive you insane if you don't control your power level, sleep it off. You'll be fine in a week. BUT DON'T TALK OR MEET ANYONE BEFORE THEN. It won't work and then you'll have to sleep forever.

The real redeeming feature of Hisui's route was what it gave to the story line in my opinion, gets you nice and prepared for what's coming.
Same they didn't develop the plot in a way that made her character and route more interesting at the same time.
Effort I guess.

>> No.4095009

>>4095003

Yeah, it was definitely designed to prepare the reader for the conclusion, more than anything else, and I don't think it deserved that. It was a good route, but I think when you look at how many unique scenes it has compared to the others, it's laughably short. I think I finished the whole thing in an hour.

Is there any chance of TypeMoon adding more text into the remake, or is it just going to be improved images?

>> No.4095011

I would've enjoyed Akiha's true end if it weren't for the KT story. It pretty much just threw all that out the window.

I believe Tsukihime is a study about women from man's perspective(seeing how there is a clear advance from one type to the other, depending on your responsibility), just as FSN is about men from a guy's perspective.

I'd sure hope so for text.

Honestly, Sacchin route isn't the highest reason I'd want to see a remake, it'd be to see just how time could have an effect on the more AWESOME scenes, for more and better CG!

And maybe a better made soundtrack.

I like the original soundtrack of Tsukihime the best, it was unimpressive but it had a certain charm to it that can't be replaced, all the remixes tried to improve on something that wasn't very good to begin with and came out as mediocre.

That or I am just too attached to it, I still find myself listening to Track 02 for no reason at all.

Thats the updated soundtrack, or something like that. It mentions it in the Readme file in your Tsukihime folder.
