For /jp/ to be a board about otaku culture and not normalfag weeb culture, and I want /jp/ to not be /a/ /trash/. This is one of the now probably only three boards on the site where threads and even entire generals get moved to here because other boards don't want them. And that's the problem with /jp/.

There is no possible way a board can be filled up with 150 threads about otaku culture on a website like this where content is consistently leaking both to and from other boards. Your fault is in the expectation that you want the catalog to be filled to the brim with everything, when in reality all anons want from /jp/ is a variety of threads that they can check a couple of times a month and see if there's anything new going on in the train/CCTV/model kit world rather than idol general #413523, youtuber general #1527525, and meta thread filled with singular-thread-posters #325235623.

I've realized also that most of my problem with futaba is really just my issue with modern otaku culture and how much boring shit there is. So many cheap, shitty looking mobage and gacha, and the shows they talk about aren't interesting. Plus they have twitter screencap threads over there too but unlike here they're not frowned upon so people will take them seriously and have dumb discussions over twitter. They do produce way more OC than us though which is good. There is just a lot of trash you have to get through

That's the thing, they can't, because no matter what you think about their fanbases being just as annoying as bronies, 2hus and vtubers themselves are fundamentally different from ponies. Anyone can tell a pastel cartoon horse is a pastel cartoon horse without knowing jackshit about MLP. I couldn't name nor describe a single character from that show if you asked me, but if you posted one I'd instantly recognize it as a pony and report you accordingly.

The same can't be said about 2hus/vtubers. For all intents and purposes, a 2hu/vtuber image is just another 2D Japanese girl to anyone who isn't familiar with that specific IP. And in Touhou's case that's only one series of games (and associated media) with a limited - albeit huge to the point it's almost impossible for a single person to keep track of - set of characters all designed by the same man. But vtubers are a whole "genre" of projects and their associated characters, that grows larger every day.

Anyone who thinks GR15 could be enforced for Touhou characters, vtubers, or really anything else with "anime-style" characters clearly doesn't know what they're talking about.
