1) Update your PoFV to the latest version, 1.50a

If you have troubles updating see below

2) Download and put Adonis in your PoFV folder:
http://coolier.sytes.net:8080/th_up2/src/th2_6586.zip

3) Run Adonis. Should be straightforward from there. You pick whether you want to host or connect to someone, and you pick the ip and port. When someone connects to the host the host picks lag compensation level, lower is for better pings.

PROBLEMS:

Q) I can't move, wtf?
A) Run PoFV normally and change player 1 control settings to Full. It's caused by improperly set controls

Adonis is in japanese so it's a bitch to understand error messages, but if you run adonis from the shell with japanese locale/fonts, you can copy the japanese text and google translate it to get some clue of what the problem is. Netplay threads do exist rarely on /jp/. Start one and you might get some attention, but be prepared to wait. I doubt it'd work well over here, since the traffic is so much smaller.

For people posting, don't forget: Adonis doesn't make noise, and you need to be within a reasonable distance for it to work. Post your location when you're hosting.

Assuming you entered it correctly and not as he posted it, the next step is for the host to look at the ping, decide delay, and choose first or second player for himself. As adonis makes no notification noise, he might have just not noticed you connected. After a while, it'll automatically disconnect if you haven't started playing.

Also, saying th09.exe has stopped working tells me you're doing something horribly wrong. When you connect with Adonis, it'll open itself naturally - no need to do anything yourself.

I know it takes some weird obscure compatibility mode on Vista 32 and to my knowledge it's impossible to run on Vista 64. My strategy revolves around the fact that the second person to act tends to have the advantage. So I try to respond to every attack with a fairy of my own and keep the combo gauge below 300k for quick dragon counters. The game is pretty simple, so except for the milestones for getting a free dragon there isn't much of a secret that I might know.

Nope, can't hold it. It only goes up and resets. So you need to do stuff like stopping once you hit 100k so you can hit it again, stop at 50k and let it reset, etc.
