Your friend sucks. Why would he speed up the song? Not to mention the retarded description in German.

Superior remix:

i like it

Speeding songs up is one of the signs of a bad remix.

>Why would he speed up the song?

because he wanted that song with a faster rhytm?

>> No.3942362

>>3942343
One can push the rhythm of a song without actually playing it at a faster rate. Which unfortunately requires a bit more work than just underlying the song with some generic beats.

I really hate four-to-the-floor rhythms (and thus most of trance/technoshit in general), but the first one is the worse offender with that obnoxious kick drum sound.

What's the difference between a remix and an arrangement?

>> No.3943657

>>3943634
Remix is usually easymodo where you just throw in some drumloops onto an existing piece of work, and maybe some simple bass/chord additions/changes. Arrangements tend to suggest more work than that, can be drastic as taking a few simple ideas from the original piece and remaking them into an entirely different work of music.

>> No.3945477

>>3943657
Bullshit. Don't be an idiot.

A remix takes the original music (the actual samples) and makes something different out of it. A rearrangement makes something new by copying ideas from the original music (as in, the stuff gets played, not sampled).

The arrangement is the whole plan of what instrument plays what notes and when, but I think you were looking for the word 'rearrangement'.

>> No.3945513

I know /jp/ can beat that!

>> No.3945737

I used Fruity Loops, ripped audio files with audacity, then used them as audio samples in the song.

>> No.3945848

>>3945477
I was being kind of harsh their on the remixes side, but it's really true for the most part - many if not most remixes are uninspired rehashes of the original piece. Also although traditionally remixes directly sample the material from original piece, this is not necessarily true today where one can simply recreate the much of the original piece using different instruments sounds. If the artist doesn't stray far from the original material, I'm tempted to call it a remix, whereas (re)arrangements tends to change the structure of the piece, often adding addition compositional elements and such in addition to reinstrumentation.
