No, you only need to visualize three things:

The three-dimensional curves of the bullets.
The three-dimensional curves of the power-ups.
The three-dimensional curves of the enemies.

Then all you need to do is plot your own three-dimensional course, intersecting the power-up curves, grazing the bullet curves and aligning oneself relative to the enemy curves to be within the path of your firing pattern curves.

(Two spatial dimensions, one temporal dimension, by the way.)
