Nocturne is the most overrated RPG of all time. And the most overhyped in difficulty as well.

OH BOY I JUST TOOK 5 STEPS I WONDER WHAT COMBINATION OF WEAK DEMONS I'LL FIGHT THIS TIME!

The game is piss easy as well. The buff/debuffs are insanely overpowered and the only time I've died so far was on Matador when he caught me off guard and I had 2 party members who were weak to wind (or whatever he casts).

Story wise, maxing Dojima gives you a good feeling since his wife's death is a difficult subject for him to discuss.

Persona wise, the only one REALLY worth maxxing is Tower, because Yoshitsune is SO FUCKING H4X. If you spend an hour or so refusing personas to get Ali Dance, Null Dark, and Arms Master, you're virtually unkillable. Debilitate on the 12/24 fusion forecast or Enduring Soul only adds to the madness.

Are you kidding me? Almost all of the bosses will have Dekunda and Dekaja, so buffs are only useful on random encounters.
The point of Nocturne wasn't to randomly guess and get the correct weaknesses, it was to see if you were able to recover from a tough blow and fight back. Besides, demons in the same family usually have the same weaknesses, except for some odd ones.

Shadow Hearts series is the god tier JRPG series on PS2, but I think the third one was the weakest. I still loved it though; some scenes were hilarious. And the whole American roaring 20's setting worked very well for it.
