A few moments ago, I quoted anon, wrote typed his fallacies and right before I hit submit, it hit me. What was the use of arguing? Why did I feel so compelled to change this stranger's views?

The real question came a while after that. Was 4chan always a shitstorm? Was there a time where we just laughed and shared porn?
I thought this was the best board to ask because many boards say you're vets (oldfags)

That's where you went wrong. The point of argument is to achieve enlightenment as a collective. Whether you, your opponent, or both sides end up being proved wrong is mostly irrelevant--as long as falsehoods are shown as such, isn't that better for everyone?

For your "main" question, 4chan was never completely peaceful because people were never completely peaceful. This kind of fighting happens everywhere. Humans are sad like that.

- You could post image-dumps of your favorite character.
