Idk bro I am only familiar with early Indian Buddhism and karma only appears to elucidate how actions you perform with your body in reality have inward effect on your consciousness. From my understanding buddhism(at least ancient indian one) is primarily concerned with the relationship between your consciousness and the world it is situated in. I didn't really like Ruitomo, and the FD isn't really big of a jump in quality either way or anything. There's exactly one "oh shit" scene in the FD - as in one scene, not route a because said route ends immediately after that scene despite potentially being a part where'd shit actually get interesting - but otherwise overall it's about on the same level as the main game, sharing the same good parts and faults. The biggest of the latter being the snail pace main plot.

Point being, if you do end up liking the Ruitomo it stays on about the same level for the whole experience, rather than only getting good by the time you get to FD.
