Here's how it goes down. In Haruka's route, she does get stupid drunk and fuck Shinji. The weird thing was that the director of the anime decided to do this scene and still give it a Mitsuki end. The fights felt short and plain in the OG Near Side because both Nero and Roa's abilities were written with Shiki being the perfect counter for them in mind. Both are basically immortal unless you conceptually kill them and hey that's the MC's superpower.
That's why Vlov is a good replacement for Nero. His gimmick is not immortality, it's just too hard to get close to him to get the kill.
