It's basically a copypaste of FFXI but with updates to the whole job system, graphics etc. Look it up on Google, seems pretty interesting so far, I just hope the levelling system isn't as over the top as it was before, that is before ToAU came and everyone could get to 75 in a week or two..

Leveling in FFXI was perfect after that one patch which lowered the exp needed after 65. It went to hell though after Aht was released, was too easy to level. Also I think I'm alone in this, but I fucking hated Imps. Even if the exp was really good, I just absolutely despised leveling on them.

And yes I played WoW too, on Warsong, and Draenor, and a few other places.

Can't say I have much experience with them myself. I quit a few months before ToAU and renewed for a month to see what all the fuss was about and couldn't find any motivation whatsoever to login and LFG. My friend who I played with managed to get MNK, WAR, SAM and NIN to 75 all within a few weeks though.. it took me nearly 6 fucking months to get to level 60 back in the day. Shit was pretty cash walking around in full AF.

Pretty much. After playing other MMO's with friends then going back to FFXI to sit in your MH and LFG for hours on end.. just didn't seem worth it. It was a fantastic game while I played it though.

Like you said though, it was awesome when we first played it. Hell my first "farming" was sitting in that little pond in west ronfaure fishing up moat carp. I honestly found that to be alot of fun, and I don't know why.

You have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. For one there is no real job system in FFXIV your "job" is based on the weapon you are using also there is no true leveling system in FFXIV. The system for FFXIV is being made from the ground up and has damn near nothing to do with FFXI outside of similarity in character design of the races. It's also going to have an international release and both the PS3 and PC versions will be released at the same time. As far as servers go there hasn't been too much information whether they will stay in JP onry territory but I highly doubt it as a large populous of the hardcore FFXI players aren't JP.
