Does anyone else see a surprising amount of occult concepts portrayed in Japanese media? In particular I'm talking about Umineko, but in general the East has a higher average level of enlightenment, to the point it's natural for them. It's surprising and amusing to draw commonalities between Peter J. C. and Ryukishi07.

This is something I appreciate the Japanese for, and why I'm a weeaboo. An affinity for the metaphysical, and powerful creativity. I doubt this is biological as much as cultural, but no less appreciable. If this is what they consider everyday, I'd love to see their version of occult.

Isn't Japan one of the least superstitious countries in the world? I'm only going on their percentage of atheists though.

Implying that stuff created by otaku is a representation of Japanese people as a whole.

This is not seen as a contradiction.

I greatly enjoy the artist's take on Volac. It is accurate - Volac is depicted as a poor boy with angel wings riding a two-headed dragon.

Superstition is not spirituality. If that was the truth, the Christianity approach would have progressed human enlightenment as a whole. I've met very wise and spiritual atheists. Only they didn't worship or believe in a god.
