Out of the 10 threads on front page of /jp/ currently, 6 are hidden. 5 of them are RP threads the other is a RONERY thread. Now, let's go over this one more time:

RP threads were never fun, they were never funny, they never will be fun, they never will be funny. Take your circle jerk to somewhere like Gaiaonline. Or maybe, since you guys like to roleplay Touhou so much, maybe SHRINEMAIDEN will take you. I for one have had enough. Enough of the faggotry, the ronery, and the retards.

I ask you /jp/, is this all really necessary? Why can't we have a sensible discussion, perhaps something about maybe JAPAN/GENERAL? We can talk about the Touhou series, its background, its story, ZUN. We can talk about Nasuverse, Shiki versus the world, theoretical situations. Instead, you all create thread after thread going exactly like this:

At the same time, you seem to have the idea that this is a good opportunity to share images. /jp/ should be more than just an image dump board, but like everything, it would be good in moderation

I agree with the OP, but have little reason to complain about it as loudly as he does.

If there's another dumb RP thread (or any thread about something I couldn't care less about), I simply ignore it, and pretend as if its not there. When it gets too bad, I just leave.

/jp/ is a new board, and most people (myself included) already have other boards here where we enjoy to congregate with the locals, much less other websites entirely.
If you don't have one of those, however, and claim /jp/ as your sole home, then instad of simply whining about the threads, maybe you should go about creating a new one, more relative to your interests. That's how the threads you hate got started in the first place, after all.

I really don't see the problem with ronery threads, even though I don't really participate in them. Some people are SOL when it comes to certain things, and it's fun to talk about our past experiences. Some people here are rather talented in writing as well and can construct a nice short story as well. Some stories you can relate to, and makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

It just bothers me when people try to make "deep" trash that talks about how they're all alone in this "dark" world, cold and lonely. This sort of writing works fine in some circumstances, but an imageboard post that tells of a personal experience is definitely not one of them. This is a /jp/ ronery thread, not DeviantArt or Myspace.

99% of the SO RONERY people are guys who have been ruined by 2D expectations in anime and their own intentional seclusion.

Chances are, you're not the alpha-male knockout like some rare (but highly visible) people are. I know I'm not. But come on man, take a look around you. There are UGLY guys with girlfriends. Maybe not incredibly attractive girlfriends, but why do you think you should magically get a supermodel girlfriend?

There are only 3 things keeping Anon SO RONERY:

1. Lack of anything to talk about in normal social situations. Anime is great, I love anime, but get another hobby as well. Get something to talk to people about, and for fuck sake, stop being so arrogant all the time. I'm talking about the people who roll their eyes at anyone who watches popular television series or even girls whose only concept of anime comes from a few episodes of Naruto she watched. Stop being such a raging faggot about hating other people for stupid things.

2. Unrealistic expectations and standards. No, Anon, chances are you will not meet an incredibly attractive virgin girl with a love for the same anime as you who wants nothing more than to discuss Touhou with you. I'm sorry to break that news to you. Lower your expectations. If you're being honest when you say you really just don't want to be alone, then stop caring about whether or not the girl has some physical flaws.

3. Staying inside all day, not talking to anyone when not absolutely required to (work, college, etc.) and purposely avoiding any sort of social situation. Cut that shit out. Make some guyfriends who do more than sit inside all day, chances are they have connections and can set you up with some girls.

That's about it from me. Stop using your ugliness or your weight or whatever it is your tell yourself as an excuse to give up, and stop judging other people so damn harshly.
