First time ordering from nine9style, and dhl is asking for a passport? Tracking shows package is stuck in customs, verified by both calling dhl and checking the emails signed tls cert.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Scam? Or am I on some watchlist now?

Yeah, I live in the US, and I've never been asked for a passport for a package, and I've had them come from all over and used DHL extensively. I'd say scam. There's no Custom or duty fees for stuff from Korea, so they shouldn't need your passport.

arle's shoes came in the mail and they are very cute. do you think it would be a mistake to paint them entirely white, or should i opt for a different color to differentiate between the preexisting white trim and the shoe? her wardrobe is almost entirely white, initially due to staining paranoia but now it has just stuck.

i've ordered vintage kimono fabric remnants off ebay with the intention of making something cute for 2B and 9S, but keep hesitating to cut into it. i always feel like i need more practice first.

these are the ones i have for reference (flash isn't flattering, but it shows the fabric texture much better). each piece is just a panel from a deconstructed kimono, so the size of the piece, the possible print/weave scale, and the pricing are all over the place. these started at around $1 each, but it was ebay, so interest from other bidders and combining shipping made a big difference from piece to piece. i want to say most ended up around $3-$8 per piece.

There's no general rule to how fast a stain can happen. There was a part of one of the miku defaults that stained on contact, and then there are some outfits that never do. Some of the things to consider are how tight the clothes are, how dark the color is, how humid it is, and the type of fabric used. The main areas to worry about are where there is prolonged tight contact with your doll's body. Waist bands, collars, cuffs, sleeves and seams (especially seams with dark thread, those are major offenders). There are steps you can take to protect her, body stockings, under garments (slips, high waisted panties, under shirts), body tape (volks makes this) and more. Also, with dark colored clothes, a handwash/vinegar soak can help remove excess dye and set what's left. Just make sure your outfit can take a washing before you do.

The mist is like hairspray, for setting it once it's styled. Unfortunately it's like the anon above said, it can range all the way from "instantly" to "never" -- I recommend getting some spare pieces you don't care about to test with for that reason. If stains do happen you can usually reduce/remove them, but for particularly bad ones you may need to replace the parts entirely. You can buy protective body stockings for your dolls that will help, and undergarments like panniers that prevent direct contact with the skin can also work. You can also (carefully, delicately) hand-wash things in your sink if you're worried, rinsing until the water comes clear and then air-drying and maybe (if possible, fabric dependent) steaming or pressing them back into shape. Sometimes it's doll social time, and that's always fun. Other times, it's pretty quiet, and we get a few questions here and there. If something interesting or relevant is going on (ala Dollpa, new releases, the Mandarake Crotch Mangler sells another doll) things can pick up again, but generally this is a sleepier thread, I think.

Do you think this is a good deal? It's listed as like $250 but it doesn't come with anything. It would be nice if the eyes and wig were included but I don't know if it's rude to ask the seller if it's possible to include them with the sale of the head.

I think the head is cute, but the listing also discloses a lot of flaws so I don't want to be disappointed getting the actual item and feeling like i was ripped off.
