All flagX where X is a number persist during even after the day ends. None ever decrement, only increment. Some scenes are locked off by flagX < 1. Thus, if you ever increment that flag, you are permanently locked off from that scene. It hasn't been an issue for me so far since most of it is just "lol I don't remember" stuff but I'm mad Nasu designed Flower of Thanatos this way. Yeah, with how the Far Side routes are, they are probably going to be rewritten from the ground up. I think the Near side routes will be fundamentally similar in the remake even with all of the new stuff, but the way the Far side routes were written made them pretty intertwined with the 18+ scenes. Though with the Heaven's Feel adaptation being the way it is, I'm optimistic they won't change anything too fundamental like Kohaku's backstory. One thing I hope the Tsukihime remake does is to mention the white ribbon only for Shiki to get distracted and forget about it later.

If you don’t want much to change from the old game then that’s not happening since Nasu has removed pretty much all of the old text and mainly focused on keeping some of the things from the old game like important plot points. I’m certain it’ll be good and an improvement from the first two routes which aren’t great. The things to worry about are if all of the old lore is getting tossed out and replaced with something worse than before. The tone and setting are also concerns as the internet and smart phone will have to be addressed. General suspension of disbelief will have to occur if this game is going to go crazy like Fate with the fights and why they aren’t recorded and on the news. Still, Nasu talked about wanting to spend more time with the charcters and have a more natural progression of time instead of rushed pacing of the old game so hopefully the charcters are like their previous versions and aren’t completely different charcters. The look of the game and general production should be very high so no issues there.

As the other anon says, no PVP, so only need to roll for meta servants if wanting to clear content and farm excessively. Which is only "necessary" if you are already paying and having tons of servants to level up. So kind of a vicious loop there based on gacha addicts 'gotta have them all' feeling.

The reason those videos exist is that FGO is hyper grindy and intentionally refuses to add quality of life features. The entire "endgame" of the game is just finding team setups that can clear farming nodes in the least possible turns and clicks required (because you need to click fucking everything manually) and then doing it 500 times. Even if there are certainly some stretches of bad content, actually having some amount of connection to some characters you get can make the story more enjoyable.
That's fair. I'm the opposite. I started out actually playing it, but discovered I don't like the gacha system of having almost no control over what characters I get or even have the chance of getting along with just generally finding the actual gameplay & story uninteresting. I actually did pull an Abby though. That was fun for about 5 minutes.
