Mayohiga is a special case, though, since unlike most places it has trouble sitting in one place for long. It tends to stick around the border, but it can't be trusted to be in the same direction every time.

Not entirely sure if there's a canon depiction of the Mayohiga either. Seen it drawn as anything from a cottage up to a mansion on par with the Eientei, though the popular image seems to be some sort of Tokugawa era villa.

Gensokyo has large, expansive woodlands. It would be an easy task to fell them, saw them into planks, and build even more ships. The problem is that I can't see what else use they would be, as Gensokyo can't be threatened with an ordinary sea-going navy.

Come to think of it, it would be rather impractical trying to fit any major subterranean structure under the nightmare of geologic instability that is Japan. Gensokyo probably has its occasional quakes and landslides.

It's a dark night and Patchouli Knowledge is reading by candlelight at her favorite comfy chair. It had been pretty uneventful this evening. No Marisa barging in to "borrow" books, nobody bothering her with mundane idiocy. A little lonely, to be sure, but nice. You get used to being alone in a huge library, reading cheesy horror novels in the dead of the night after so many centuries.

Something was off, though. Patchouli could almost feel someone staring at her. Several times she'd look around, and then tell herself it's nothing. She'd hear something softly thump in the back of the library, pages rustle or the floor creak. These are all things you hear normally, though.

Slowly, the night went on. After about the fifth book, Patchouli began to feel a little sleepy. A light rest couldn't hurt. Just as she started to doze off, she felt hot breath over her head. Stinking breath. The breath of some foul beast. Slowly, cautiously, she looked up.

"Oook," said the Librarian.

Looks close enough, thanks.
So from the look of it, two wings and a main building with either a courtyard or a ballroom. The library should be on the bottom floor of a wing, the kitchen should be either in the basement or in a separate building connected by a tunnel. Not sure how the clock tower is attached, haven't seen any real clock towers connected with bridges.
The mistress' bedroom would probably be on one end of the top floor of the main building, probably under the roof on the right with the weathercock. Next to it should be a study or a personal library, although Remi may have done away with that.
Going by tradition, the head maid would either live in a sparsely furnished room in the attic, or in a back room connected to either the kitchen or the basement. There would be a rather extensive basement to house boilers and household supplies, so it is possible the basement would be in two or more floors with the bottommost housing Flandre.

In addition to that, there should be plenty of auxillary buildings around the manor.
