What sort of hero appeals most to you? Do you love a moralfag, pine for the emohero, or respect the principled neutral path?

I wonder sometimes how our views of heroes have changed.

My image is obviously related, as he comes from the first class of heroes:

Be strong, be aggressive, make your justification truth, and take what belongs to you by virtue of your own greatness.

tl;dr, we need some heroes, /jp/

Suave, quiet, low-key, calculating, witty, cunning and good at what they do.

Hot-headed type heroes are a lot of fun and look cool but I've always preferred a hero who has to rely on something other than "IM TEH STRONGEST". Brawn should be able to be backed up by brains.

Pic fucking related

In todays society, we have no heroes. No one wants to stick up for everyone and do what's right, we prefer to watch as bad shit happens and then say 'Oh, I'd do that' instead of doing something.

Well, I'd imagine he would probably end up being a Berserker, since Enkidu was a wildman who used his own strength as a weapon.

Tacitly speaking, Gilgamesh bested Enkidu, so that means Gilgamesh has a historical advantage over him. Since Enkidu was killed by divine retribution, Enkidu has a weakness to divine powers, right? That means something like Excalibur would be very painful, probably.

Over-the-top hot-blooded heroes like Shishio Gai are fun. But whatever happened to the grimly serious hard-boiled heroes like Sam Spade and Rick? The kind who are no good at being noble, but know that the problems of three people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy, mixed up world. They wore gray trench coats and fedoras, and had haircuts you could set your watch by. They came from an era where men were men, women were women, and everything was shot in black and white. And now they're all but extinct.

I'm a fan of the fearless leader types myself.
Anti-heroes that don't care about the means long as the ends are achieved are fine too.
The guys that do hero deeds "for the greater good" (moralfags) can be interesting, long as they have enough development aside from the "I do good deeds 'cause it's the right thing to do".
