I think the real problem is that /jp/ is vulnerable to major fluctuations in quality due to the board's speed. Even one determined troll can be a noticeable annoyance, and three or four at once can really shit up the board. That seems to be what happened right after C76, though we've mostly recovered from that.

It's not that we're on some irreversible decline from the mythical golden age of night shift ronery threads, it's that we're prone to huge swings in board quality. That, and Russian Federation's fucking spaghettibot.
