The hardest part of the battle is defeating Rengoku. Don't waste your action flags before he reveals his true form, use the "CHALLENGE AGAIN" option freely, since you'll end up with 0 point anyway

Suzume's stats are fairly unimpressive and ninjas generally don't do a whole lot of damage, but her Chun-chun Shuriken attack hits two rows and can't be redirected by a Footman, so it's extremely valuable when you absolutely need to interrupt a huge Diviner unit that's about to own your whole team.

Is this clown at all worth keeping around? I'm using him for Volley, which is basically a preparationless Shikigami, which makes him OK for tossing at the first battle of a territory and defending, since him, a footman, Rizna, and Elina can basically four man those, and none of them with the exception of Elina are worth using on real battles.

Basically he's the MVP of the B-team.

Actually it says the chances of success go down if the ninja has less troops than the target. So a ninja with 6000 troops attacking a target with 500 troops wouldn't have a better chance than one with only 600 troops.
In addition, the so-called "decrease" seems to be rather insignificant, at least in my experience. I've seen ninjas with low troops kill commanders with several times the amount of troops as often as I've seen failures.

Also you're right, I usually just keep Suzume around with 1 troop(she can't die in battle as far as I know) and try to assassinate when I'm defending. Works most of the time.
