Yukkuris are still often seen taking it easy around these parts. Of course there are still the uneasy mister humans who prevent them from taking it easy, but they try to avoid those.

Your yukkuri comes in after playing outside one day crying! She says some wild yukkuri moved into your background and started taking it easy, but won't let her take it easy! It's a whole family, and they say that their Marisa is the strongest, so as the shitty human you need to be careful or you'll die easy!

Question for abyuse enthiasts.

Do you like it more if it's a shithead, or more if it hasn't done anything to deserve it? I think I'm weird, because the more sympathetic the yukkuri is, the more I enjoy abyuse. Yukkuri that are portrayed as intelligent, caring, or even heroic are way more satisfying to me.

I couldn't sleep, so I thought up an entire multiple act structure while I was lying awake in bed. Might be autistic desu

Part 1: the park

>the park is a human park near a forest, where wild yukkuri and humans both take their young to play
>abyuse is unknown, the two lifeforms coexist and play together, the yukkuri love and admire Mr Human as an organism that likes to help them take it easy
>anon, our hero, wants to abuse yukkuri, but doesn't want to ruin the dynamic and destroy this trust by alerting the others
>anon becomes extremely adept at stealthily destroying yukkuri while playing with them
>tactics include:
>digging holes in the sandbox and then putting koyukkuri in them and covering them with sand in one fluid motion, before the ko can realize what's going on and scream for help
>picking up kos to play "Mr Bird" and then dunking them in the upper tank of the public toilet to muffle their screams while they drown
>getting entire families to jump into a cardboard box to play, and then sealing the box with tape and mailing it to the factory
>making homemade boats out of newspaper and letting koyukkuri play "sail" on them in the river, then simply letting them drift off into the distance, by the time they realize that something has gone wrong and it isn't a game any more, they're too far away from the park for anyone to hear their screams
>putting kos in a vacuum thermos, so the vacuum completely eliminates any noise from inside and anon can bring them to his "easy chamber" at home

>> No.33282171

>>33282084
Part 2: the detective

>most families, being in such a hospitable environment, are having so many kos that they can't count them all. Because they still have "lots" single disappearances go completely unnoticed unless it's a special type
>one unusually intelligent Patchouli notices, and after interviewing others, begins to notice that many of the disappearances are connected with a specific human, our anon
>after discretely surveilling anon for a while (this section is like spy v spy with anon trying to kill kos without getting caught and Patche desperately trying to keep an eye on everyone so anon can't kill again) Patche concludes that there are always less yukkuri around after "play time" than before and that anon is responsible
>Patche gathers a meeting, which the others reluctantly interrupt their playtime to attend
>the meeting is momentarily disrupted by reports of sweets over by the swing set; patchy is trying to get the others to come back and listen when anon slaps a strip of duct tape over her mouth and tosses her into his backpack
>the shaking and indistinct noises coming from Anon's backpack are completely unnoticed as he says his goodbyes to the other yu and promises to come back tomorrow, he finds Patche's nest and pops a couple of the kos into his vacuum thermos for home

>> No.33282273

>>33282171
Part 3: the deal

>Patche, wriggling through the backpack, is running through all of the possible possibilities
>getting help is impossible, escape is impossible, and a Mr Abuser will never listen to a yukkuri telling him to stop
>by the time that Anon returns home, the great detective has concluded that she is definitely going to die, possibly after some degree of torture
>anon dumps the backpack out onto the ground, rips the strip of tape off of Patchy's mouth
>Patche is too scared to even beg, she only hopes that the rest of the herd can look after her koyukkuri
>Anon shakes the thermos bottle, and out come a couple of piss stained but still living kopatchoili and kochen, patchi's children
>as Patche is silently cursing an uncaring god, and her own inability to put the pieces together sooner, anon smiles, and says "let's make a deal"
>Patche freezes, completely failing to comprehend the situation, and anon continues
>Anon explains that it's difficult for a human to lure a yukkuri to its death without attracting unwanted attention from other humans or from other yukkuri
>he saw Patche interviewing other yus and discretely acting as a lookout, and decided that Patchy would make a perfect partner in crime
>the deal is this: do what I say, and bring more yukkuri to me, and you and your kos will become pet yukkuri and take it easy instead of dying slowly

>> No.33282516

>>33282273
Part 4: The badge
>it's a few months later, after a montage of anon absolutely BTFOing every yukkuri that Patche can lure off by itself

>anon is tired of bullying wild yukkuri, who have only known a wild existence, and whose horizons are too small to know true suffering
>anon wants to move up to domestic gold badge yukkuri
>this would be the ultimate bullying experience, but also the most daring heist to pull off, patche's assistance is crucial
>meanwhile, patche is in her own personal hell
>she knows that she can't just escape without her koyukkuri (secure in a glass cage) suffering some unthinkable fate, but she also hates herself for luring trusting yukkuri to their own horrific fates, effectively trading their lives for the lives of her children
>the children have no idea that anything is wrong, they just know that they moved to a cool new nest and that Mr Human is feeding them more often

>local humans have begun to bring their own pet yukkuri to the park to play with their own kind
>Patche, now "adopted" by anon and sporting her own badge, is officially one of these pet yukkuri
>Patche's mission is to find one of these domestic yukkuri, preferably one with a high badge, and lure it away without alerting either its owner or other yukkuri

to be continued but I need to go back to sleep

>> No.33284876

>>33282516
Very cute anon!

>> No.33286370

>>33282516
Part 4 continued:

I know basically what will happen, but I haven't figured out how to pace it so that exciting and it makes a full volume worth of comic

>a nervous patchy greets the new arrivals to the park, who reply enthusiastically
>they have no idea what is coming, Patchy is dying inside trying to maintain the facade of a carefree, innocent yukkuri
>Patchy, as the only pet yukkuri there who knows anything about the park, or the yukkuri nearby, is actually quite popular among the badged yukkuri whose owners bring them to the park
>the first victim is a silver badge Alice, who confides in Patche that she wants to refresh, but that her owner won't allow it
>Patche explains to Alice that Patchy's owner is a very easy Mr owner who will allow patchy and alice to refresh all they want
>Patche explains that the next time they meet, at a prearranged signal, Patchy and alice will run away, and easy Mr owner will help them escape
>at home, Patche explains plan to Anon, who applauds Patche for her deviousness, as soon as anon leaves, Patche throws up a little bit of cream and begins to curl into the fetal position
>the next time they meet, it goes off without a hitch, alice's owner is distracted by a car alarm going off, patchy and alice quickly run to a clearing in the forest, where anon is waiting
>anon picks up a grinning alice and puts her in backpack, and walks off with Patchy as if he were simply taking his pet home
>brief cut to alice's point of view, hiding from her owner in the backpack, dreaming of the new life that she'll have with Patchy
>"mish patchy is very easy, alice will soon have a very city-sect life with patchy" "just need to do hide-hide easy"
>Anon arrives home and takes the backpack into "easy room" in the basement, patchy stays upstairs
>"where is easy ms patchy mr human?"
>the basement muffles but by no means silences the screams and begging, patchy puts her hand things over her ears (which don't actually exist lol)

I'm not sure whether it would be better to actually show the abuse or just have the noises. After that, have a couple of smaller montage style bits of Patchy luring pet yukkuri into Anon's clutches under various pretexts.

I'll preface this by saying I don't particularly like abyuse, but I do get some satisfaction out of seeing a shithead be put in its place. My thoughts are pretty much the same as >>33275758. I also get a kick out of seeing yus of characters I dislike getting abused. There's really ought to be way more Remilia abyuse, most of them are predatory assholes anyway.
Additionally, while not exactly abuse, the more benign, troll-y sorts of depictions of suffering like >>33269497, >>33291558, and >>33291791 get a chuckle out of me. I think this is because it is more so dark humor than outright malice.

You're right, kiiriraitaa was not my first exposure, though I still caught wind of him pretty early on. I knew about yukkuri's existence when initially learning more about Touhou, but my first real exposure to them was on this board, when we had more frequently recurring yukkuri threads some years back.

Can someone describe to me the appeal of abyuse? I used to think it was just edgelords being edgy, but there's so much of it and it seems to encompass so big a fraction of the Yukkuri content out there that it must be more than that.

Whenever I look at it it just makes me feel queasy, and if I keep looking at it it's always a "this is so horrible I can't look away" sort of fascination. And this only ever happens when I happen to stumble across a hoard of the stuff (such as in a /jp/ thread). I never feel the desire to seek it out.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cute_aggression

If you experience a very strong emotion, you can experience what's known as a "dimorphous" emotional reaction. That is, a positive stimulus elicits a strong negative response, or vice verse. So in the case of a yukkuri, an extremely cute creature can trigger a response of aggression rather than compassion (which is how humans normally respond to cute things). Conversely, seeing an extremely cute creature in horrific pain can trigger a response of satisfaction rather than despair.

I think you also have to dehumanize them a lot for the dimorphous response to be more powerful than the normal response. Hence why it can't be a human, or even an animal, serving as the object for the aggression. It has to be something that clearly isn't real, or else it would just be horrific and not satisfyingly.

Story idea number 9001: what would a world with no abyuse look like

>one area of Japan has no shitheads
>it's revealed in a flashback that the entire yukkuri population of this prefecture is descended from a few families of niceheads, who were led by a wise patchouli and went on a long journey to get to this remote location
>because there were no shitheads breaking people's windows, eating their vegetables, and demanding sweets, the idea of "abyuse" never occurred to anyone and the whole thing never got started
>nonetheless, yukkuri breed at an alarming rate, and the locals realize that having semi-sentient creatures overpopulating the area would be a bad thing for both human and yukkuri alike
>the original plan was to have local dog catchers simply round up all of the strays but this was abandoned when public officials realized that you don't have to "round up" yukkuri when you can just offer them sweets and they'll follow you
>most are neutered to keep numbers down, but the locals insist on maintaining a no-kill shelter to protect their beloved local animal
>the original plan envisioned an animal shelter, but in practice it ends up being more like a yukkuri village run by humans and inhabited by yukkuri, the humans barely have to do anything
>with that many niceheads in one place, all taking it easy, the easiness level reaches unmanageable proportions
>in nature, when this many yukkuri are taking it easy, yukkuri biology inevitably increases to the next stage
>the staff come in one morning to find a dosumarisa singing to a crowd of thousands of ecstatic yukkuri
>the humans briefly consider the idea that the dosu could be dangerous, and might need to be euthanized, but a brief conversation reveals that the dosu is committed to "helping mr humans take it easy"

We aren't bullying you; we're just teaching you the board culture.

Lurking is harder than people give it credit for. In this context it entails observing and identifying the behavior and mannerisms of a board and then convincingly mimicking it without any feedback. That's not always so easy, especially when it's a negative like this: you would have to realize that /jp/ DOESN'T greentext and then suppress the habit, which is a lot harder than it is to notice people on other boards greentexting and then imitating them.

This is why we say things like "who are you quoting?" and "too green; didn't read": to provide that feedback. It's flippant, but by 4chan standards it's actually quite polite. Other boards might be telling you to kys yourself over this. This a gentle nudge, not a gouging jab.

Also: you're anonymous here! Reputations do not stick. Refrain from greentexting in the future and we will be none the wiser that you ever did.

have a story i've been mulling over for a while about teaching a mother reimu and her yus that their house is haunted and they have to sleep next to a night light or ghosts will get them
any yu that wanders off in the night gets bullied by their owner in the dark while he wears a ski mask (which to yukkuri just looks like eyes and a mouth floating in the dark)
when mr. owner is in a bad mood he locks his door and the night light suddenly "goes out" and the yus have to deal with the dark and mr. owner relieving some stress
light bullying and anything that uses yukkuri psychology against them are top tier

Because translating for something as extremely niche like yukkuri won't get you as much likes, retweets, upvotes, donations to your patreon, etc as translating the flavor of the month isekai.
Because yukkuri have reclined and the amount of people in the fanbase is but a fragment of what it used to be during it's peak.

Personally, I prefer watching shitheads get what deserves to come to them. It gets very tiring seeing a yukkuri getting their shit kicked in because they slid near a restricted airspace for 0.3 seconds.

>> No.33515869

So last night I couldn't sleep, and I got to thinking again.

Aren't winged types basically the perfect pets?

- other humans can't abuse them because they can just fly away
- shitheads can't kill them for bullshit reasons because they're predators and can btfo normal types
- you don't even need to buy food because they can hunt on their own
- can use them to transport small items, herd other yukkuri, and other random tasks that involve flying

In a related thought, I never see stories where predators are the protagonists. They only ever show up as a side character in a story about other yukkuri. I want to see something like the pre-abuse section of true happiness, where it just goes over their life cycle and everyday routine.

Maybe an anon sets up a nest box in a tree in his backyard and waits for a wild remilia family to move in, and then he just observes their routine.

I'm gonna add on to what >>33343204 said as someone who always regrettably falls into these threads after being disgusted by the fact it's even a thread to begin with.
It's been years at this point, but I've discovered there's a clear cut line that separates the "sick fucks" and "others".
To speak for myself, I've always been a real life animal lover and caretaker. I'd take a bullet for a dog or cat, and I value the life and well being of a lot of animals the same as a human being.
Enter Touhou.
It's Touhou.
Enter Yukkuri.
A (at the time) harmless "meme" that should've been nothing more than a dim looking ":D" on fat Reimu and Marisa heads that said "Take it easy."
It's biggest sin was becoming anything more than that.
What's even worse is that they then started to be depicted as "pets" in some regard. Which maybe would have been no big deal if it didn't CONTINUE to even further evolve past that.
Now for me, I don't consider anything that verbally "speaks" to be "cute". That's just me. But what really kicks in the "aggression" is how they slowly became "aware of being cute", which is an awful trope of it's own, but then it started to be depicted as "smug" and now they're being drawn taking shits and acting "oh sorry" with baby speak, and it goes on, hitting every nail.
But note that all of this was BEFORE the abuse drawings started to go into full swing. (which of course then gave them even more despicable traits)
And while they're are plenty of documented "histories" on what and how it evolved, here's some blunt facts.
They're not real.
They're not Reimu, Marisa, or any other humanoid Touhou character.
But more importantly, they're not even animals, despite vain attempts to depict them as "pets" and thus creating some false correlation to "animal abuse".
Because for many, getting any "kick" out of "not real, it's a depiction" or any form of torture or abuse to humans or animals isn't gonna fly for most folks, and rightfully so.
For the record, what >>33500069 could still be viewed as "fucked up" since Korone (the character) is a humanoid.
However, Yukkuri's are so far escaped from this "humanoid" or "animal" depiction, that the only thing one's mind can really do is to "feel bad" and acknowledge that these fictional beings have a "sentience" (Albeit loosely)
While I think Yukkuri abuse is indeed vile, you know what's worse?

I've read some fucked up stuff from people who take way too much "pleasure" from Yukkuri abuse over the years.
But little shits who think it should be all "rainbows and sunshine" wholesome clearly have no idea of the cancer they bathe in.
Because yes, Yukkuri is a cancer, and where ever there is "wholesome" content, there must now be "abuse" content to follow.
The only way to truly get rid of Abuse art is to destroy Yukkuri's themselves, either by acts like banning discussion of them on /jp/ (which sadly, won't happen) or having them collapse within the obscurity it already exist in.
Otherwise, people reap what they sow.

This makes me think, how did a pair of Reimu and Marisa heads end up with biology, habitats, etc, etc. This confuses me a great deal.

Actual answer: some anon on /jp/ created an ASCII signature of Marisa and Reimu that was so fucked up that it looked like weird, disembodied heads, and people started drawing pictures of the little heads because it was such a bizarre concept.

Headcanon answer: I like to think that one of the yukai was throwing like a birthday party or something, and decided to save time by using a spell to make a pastry that looked like Reimu and Marisa. They screwed up the spell and accidentally created two pastries that were sentient and could reproduce, and then the food escaped off of the table while nobody was looking.

This. They are pastries not humans characters and neither animals, in plenty of doujins yus get rekt by animals or between themselves and at this point is canon that being a yukkuri implies high mortality in one way or the other.
Maybe considering them more like insects instead of mammalian animals would clear it up for some people.

It's fucking wild with how when skimming the yukkuri booru links that were posted, among other pictures on the same site, there's so many years old comments detailing some "canon facts" about yukkuri as they had such a highly detailed backstory and anatomy that were asspulled at some point.
Going into detail like "the artist interpretation in this comic/picture has a blah blah Reimu and specific X type of Marisa" like for fucks sakes people.
I know yukkuris definitely had a "strong" subfandom within the touhou fandom, but considering where it all came from to begin with, it's pretty stupid. Even all these years later.

TL;DR: Don't stop posting Yukkuri's getting absolutely annihilated every time there's Yukkuri thread on /jp/.
And I suppose vice versa if the thread would to open up with torture, though that's unlikely.
They're two sides of the same coin.

I mean, that's why the autistic backstory happened.

People liked the weird little moeblobs. It made sense that their bodies would be manjuu and it just kind of evolved as every new doujin added something to the headcanon.
