Watched "Dog in a Sidecar", liked the friendship between the woman and the girl. Their performances was excellent, IMO.
The adult is the actress that killed herself last year. The child became a director, very young. She was the one that directed "Love and Fortune", a promising director.

Just watched Ore no Ie no Hanashi and I can confirm that it is very omoshiroi. For the people wondering what this season's best drama is, I'd highly recommend this one. It's the only one that actually bothered to put effort into their script, hired a competent editor, and actors that did a stellar job with the material. I was also surprised that I didn't recognize Nagase Tomoya right away. Aside from various variety show appearances, the last time I saw him in something was My Boss, My Hero.which is a really fucking long time ago. He looked like some random ossan which really sold the wrestler mc for me, even though in the back of my head I felt like I've seen him before.

I also watched this recently and despite liking I also thought it could be more satisfying, like it had some things building on that were left unfinished.

The last one I watched was Colorless, an indie movie I think.
The story was better than it looked at first, or at least more interesting that it looked. But made me think at the end, "this character is mentally will and no one is doing nothing but scream with her". Yes, she was doing some bad things, telling bad lies, but it was clear that at some point she had completely lost it and was going mad, doing all those things to cope and bear the pain the was feeling.

Besides movies, I'm watching some older dramas.
Currently I'm watching "Mama wa Idol" (yes, because of THAT guy) and enjoying more than I thought I would, because if less shitty than I thought it was. Why?
This drama is starred by Miho Nakayama as herself. She marries a father of three under the agreement to keep it a secret for one year to not implode her Idol career and... to finish high school.
It's her to believe, but the woman was only 17 years old! Still a school kid and she married her primary teacher (oh, the scandal). It's a bit crazy seeing he trying to be a mother for kids that are only 3 to 2 years younger than her. And the tension in the house with the expectation of the couple having their first night... Old television was daring.

Only thing I can see talking about K-Dramas is their adaptations of J-Dramas/movies. I saw a few eps of Nomade K-drama and it was pretty bad. Only the female lead was like J-Drama version while everyone else played it straight which made it weird to watch, like she didn't belong in that drama at all from the rest of the characters.

I am trying to remember this Japanese movie I saw over a decade ago. I clearly remember a roughly teenage to early twenties female side character that would put excessive amounts of mayonnaise on everything she ate. I very vaguely remember a male character (possibly protagonist) with medium to long messy hair that would sort of wander aimlessly around Tokyo(I think?) and an older homeless man he would interact with. I know it came out in the 2000's. My memory of it is almost nonexistent at this point and I have been searching through the Japanese film releases for each year of the 2000's with no success yet. Can any Japanese movie otaku here help me out?

Since everyone was talking about it, I finally gave Ore no Ie no Hanashi a watch. It's funny, loving it so far (ep1) but the subs are poorly made and it takes away from the overall enjoyment.
Wish I wasn't such a filthy EOP.

Friend recommended this one to me a few years ago. I really liked this one. Simple story but atmosphere carried it well. And about the ending I'm really glad they pull the double switcheroo on you. I was pretty disappointed when they were setting up the "misunderstanding" ending but the switch made me laugh pretty hard. Anyway would recommend. Very pleasant watch.

I know nothing about this movie but it's also on my list to watch in the coming weeks. Hope the end don't disappoints me like Aiuta that I watched yesterday did.

For a melodrama was good, I liked.
Problem was the very last and very unnecessary "surprise" in the last scene. What they wanted with that scene? Was cheap and added nothing.
This and that there was not enough Riko Narumi on screen, I picked to watch just because of her. (oh man, her husband must be enjoying that extra meat she got on her bones).

I just did similar for Mahi-Mahi. He’s got such a natural knack for playing characters with dark motives, but since he takes any kind of role under the sun, I feel his repertoire has gotten sloppy as consequence.

I do enjoy how much he really tries to sell all the terrible scripts he gets though. His end with his agency this year can’t come any faster, good luck buddy.

It was good (furifura) but I'm a sucker for high school romance. I feel like I would have enjoyed it more if I was younger and didn't analyze films as much these days. Part of the reason I wanted to watch it was I thought Hamabe was gorgeous, but she puts on 20 years when she smiles. Fukumoto is like the opposite, she's so plain with no emotion, but gorgeous when she emotes.
