Guys, I had a theory. It's probably ridiculous and maybe even thought of already, but I want to know what you think.

The meta world, magic, witches, etc are all real. Battler was one of the strongest magicians in the universe, but 6 years ago, after losing a game to another witch, he lost his magical powers and memory of being able to use that magic. Beato, who was Battler's good friend(and maybe lover), starts the game in hopes that it will make Battler remember and return to his former self. 34 and Bern are trying to prevent this from happening.

I got a shot in the dark for a later Umineko episode.

Santa Claus will come in and be pissed from being made fun off in the Episode 3 tea party, or at least being denied by the witches, and will be able to use the Green Text to tell everyone who's naughty and nice to end the game.

No evidence. Me just being bored.
