I don't get a chance to fight many Suikas with Cirno -- poor ⑨ definitely has a hard time in that one.
But when I picked Suika myself that was pretty much me saying "FIREWORK MORE, DIAL-A LESS." Suika's dial-A is one of the worst in the game; sure, it does some okay damage, but if you'll notice every time I blocked and you did it anyway it put you in perfect melee range and I had every opportunity to just combo the fuck out of you. Careful with that.
Still, pretty cool oni loli bro, I'd love to mirror you again when you can utilize the true usefulness of fireworks and command grabs.

Reisen player hurr, lemme help you.

>I also can't find any time to activate my cards
This is a tough bitch to do, and takes practice before you get used to the timing. What I do is launch a 5C or default 236 bullet at a range where they're obviously going to block, then launch a couple more that they pretty much HAVE to block. While that crap is pushing them into the opposite corner, I chug my potion.
Doing it right after knockdown works too, but there's usually more risk involved.

>Reisen's j2A is so hard to aim.
From the sounds of it I can assume you're trying to land this as an overhead, correct? Don't.
Situationally it can work, but I never do it unless I'm positive it's going to connect. j.2A is there to be used during aircombos so once you hit a j.5A you're in the clear, but I personally prefer to go the j.6A route and shoot a bunch of bullets myself. That's probably because I play Suika and Cirno, who do the same damn thing.

>I can't block when you attack.
Watch your finger on the D button if you have to. I had the same problem, and the only solutions are to either get in the habit of using 66 and 44 as opposed to D so you can block faster, or pay close attention to when you're holding the D button and when you're not. Eventually you'll be able to dash toward them and letting go of D when they try to melee will feel more natural, but that shit takes practice too.

It's all practice, practice, practice. And if that fails, complain on 4chan.

Still, scratch Suika arguments, you're actually FUN to play. Goddamn, GGs Ixtli.
I won't deny that your Suika is better than mine, and you know a few more things than I do -- the most obvious of which being how to control crossup, apparently. That's something I just can NOT figure out how to do and I won't be at the top of my game until I can figure it out. I think you hit so much because you started with j.6A and I'm still in the mindset that j.5A is the best way to start aircombos. That shit ruins both my Suika AND my Suwako.

Anyway, Suika aside you're a fun match, Reisen v. Aya was fuckawesome and seems like in general it's just the most fun matchup of this game so far. I still think you read my Suika argument wrong, but oh well, I still had a good time. Thanks brah.

How often does it happen? The process still running thing is what happens to me when I freeze, but it usually only happens ~3 times per day. If it's some bullshit like EVERY time you open the client, then there's a problem.
However, one thing that comes to mind is that when I tried to run this while having Mabinogi open it would freeze like every other round, meaning it may possibly be a bandwidth problem. That's all I can help with though, the rest you'll need to look into.

2) For the most part, it didn't seem like you were blocking on wakeup.

3) J.A is fine to approach with. I was fishing your d6's with j6a though. Like, if you're on the ground, I can jump, airdash in, and ja you into some sort of blockstring (which was pretty much just 5aa 236b... not much of one anyway). You tend to only throw loliball when you're coming in from a distance, but doing it up close gives the opponent way less time to react and potentially counter it. As a follow-up to it, you can alt-236, babies, or 623b/c, but you just let yourself fall into my 66b or whatever.

Aya's fun to play, yeah. I just need to actually learn her combos instead of mashing into everything :<

>1) Stop teching so much.
Oh god, since you're saying this I can only assume you weren't around last night when I got raped by that from like a full lifebar. I almost never airteched again that whole night, but it looks like the habit somehow came back without me noticing. Goddamnit ;_;

>2) For the most part, it didn't seem like you were blocking on wakeup.
All I can think of that you'd be talking about was when I groundteched; crossup still gets me and I always block the opposite way, which fucks my shit up when you have something planned. Need to work on that one too.

>3) You tend to only throw loliball when you're coming in from a distance
I'm used to it stopping anybody who likes to get to the other side and spam projectiles, Patchy etc. I also use it and Cirno's 66C to gain extra distance, but when it gets blocked shit goes down. Sometimes when I'm actually thinking I'll throw out a 66B instead to take out a few orbs because people expect loliball and don't block low.

>I just need to actually learn her combos instead of mashing into everything
Eh, the way I see it, Aya's one of those characters where it doesn't matter as much so long as you can just catch the opponent off guard. For example, default 214 ALWAYS hits me when I'm not expecting it, whether you bothered comboing into it or not. It just comes out of nowhere.
Reisen's about catching the opponent off guard rather than comboing as well though, which is probably why they always come so close. I've only met two Aya players so far and both of them I've had goddamn awesome matches with. Honestly, I'm thinking about playing her since I got her a couple times in random matches with a few people, but I already play waaay too many characters. I doubt it'll happen.

first two come with experience, but the third one... 66b doesn't have graze at the end when you're recovering, so someone who's actually spamming their shit at you can catch you with it. And if you're unlucky and manage to whiff 66c, the recovery time on landing is more than enough to land a 2-3k combo if the opponent's good enough. If you follow loliball (on hit or block) with alt236, you're sorta safe and sorta lucky. It's the safest one of your options to follow up with imo.

"Airteching, otherwise known as recovering in the air (or "ukemi"), is done while falling after being hit by an opponent's attack. It can be done by pressing any button after the juggle period from an attack ends. You can also choose to hold a direction and a button to airtech at the soonest possible point. You can choose which direction to airtech in by holding either forward or back before pressing a button. If the juggle Limit was reached and your character receives a Limit Seal surrounding your character, you will be unable to airtech at all.

It is important to note that this function is entirely optional, and in some cases it may be much better not to airtech even when you are able to do so. For the most part, Airteching does not avoid additional juggle hits because the only time you are able to Airtech is when you've already become invulnerable in the air due to the juggle period from your opponent's attack ending."

GGs Saje. I'm just glad I finally got a victory against your Patch, went with the matchups even though I don't know how to play Tenshi.

A pity there were intermittent lag spikes. Hopefully next time it'll be better.

Gah. GGs, a.a. T'was fun as always. Sorry if my playstyle is becoming a little too easy to read for you. I'd love to change it up more to make things a little livelier, but that's the very problem that I feel is hampering my game right now. Another time perhaps.

It's alright. I'm still not entirely used to it.

Was trying to figure out how to border escape in the match against your Tenshi, but I couldn't control the direction I went (backdash against drill, whoops). Wonder how that works.

>> No.3230450

>>3230427
If you're holding back while you DD, your BE does your backdash animation, and if you hold forward, you do your forward dash. If you're trying to high jump BE, holding down makes you BE straight up, down-forward makes you go up-forwards, etc.

Can't focus, need Toohoos.
Come on in somebody, preferably somebody who thinks really highly of themselves if there're any of those around here.
I wanna see BLOCKSTRINGS. And I want to ACQUIRE THEM. Maybe an asskicking will help me concentrate on things.

Oh God I can't tell you how many times I've done that when attempting to BE. You simply have to remember that SWR has autoguard. If a blockstring is airtight you can release the back button and you will block the whole thing. As such, when you block a drill you can safely hold forward in order to BE in the correct direction and you will not drop your guard. If there's anyone who's good to practice this against it's definitely Tenshi though. I don't think any move in the game has longer blockstun then her drills.

While it's good to practice, you definitely don't need it against my Tenshi. I fuck up the 5B j.2B way too often, leaving a gaping hole in the string that you can graze out of. Even if I do land it, you have enough time to react to the correctly used j.2B to BE, provided you have enough orbs left.

Better add everyone with a grab. Add Utsuho and Cirno to that list.

Okay, thanks! I forgot about autoguard, so that's how BE-ing in a direction works. Not that I have the experience or knowledge of where the gaps in blockstrings are to use it correctly.

It is. I also believe I recall from a match that the 2nd hit does not go off in Typhoon, but don't quote me on that.

I have to say, I like how you run Freezing Method (the "grab") and Frost Pillars in the same deck. The startup animation looks about the same, it's so confusing.

well E-man, nothing else to say. Good fucking game.

Thanks. I really gotta learn to run the trap better though. I don't capitalize on it sufficiently when it does hit (full air combo is possible) and don't use it often enough or well enough to scare my opponent into unfavorable actions. I really wish it counted as melee instead of bullet, but that might be broken as fuck. The grab I feel I've been making good use of though. I react quite well to no-tech situations and am getting better at judging the range of a groundtech so I can be there with the 22B.

GGs Lim

Oww, oww, oww, oww, oww...Why does your good girl hurt so much! You're training is definitely showing, man. One thing I hate to do is send my China on the defensive and wait for opening, and you did just that. Oh, and another thing...

HOW THE HELL DO YOU COUNTER SANAE'S GRID SC!? I grazed, I counter-SC'd, I sucker punched! NOTHING WORKS!! What am I not seeing, O' Gods of the SWR Realm! ANSWER ME!!

Just block it, accept the chip damage, and get ready to survive Sanae's followup.

You didn't think 5-card cost spells were that easy, did you?

Her superarmor works according to number of hits, not duration. She can take ten hits before she stops casting. If you're China, just throw some kunai in her face.

Phew, thanks a bunch, GGs.
Your Chink is really somethin'. I mainly asked for a good blockstringer just so I could do some airtech timing exercises, and on top of that I forgot how to Border Escape until reading this thread.
But now that I've had such good practice I think I'll start maining - or at least secondaying - Aya now; I didn't like her in SWR, and I hadn't played her much recently for the same reason I didn't play Sanae: because she's a slut. But I love the crap out of her playstyle, moreso than most of my mains' even, and I'm a lot more comfortable with her since the nerf for whatever reasons. Fun games too brah.

>>3230514
It doesn't go off at all in Typhoon. Well, except for the animation and the wasted second you spent trying to use it. Shitsux.

>>3230684
You don't counter it. You just block.
And get guardcrushed. And lose.
;_;

>> No.3230755

So I just read on the SWR/Soku Wiki that Sanae has something like a pseudo-wavedash. Guess I should play her more again. Sounds like a very useful tactic.

Where're you getting that from? You DID do what I was wanting; I managed to figure out the timing in your aircombos to tech right before you were about to hit me on bounce, which was more or less practice to see if I could do it. And you're definitely no pushover either.
Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about how I perfected you
