Anon, she got 6-8k average viewers playing non EOP filter games, sometimes she even got over 10k. Its not Pekora tier, but its not bad. More than half of her viewers are membered including EOPs. I feel like it's for the better this way, she did seem under a lot of pressure during most of last year. She is still the face of Hololive when it matters, she is involved in or moderates all major events/sponsorships and supports all the talent whenever she can. These days, she just streams what she wants (a few months ago it was the fujo gacha, now it's capeshit every day) and seems a lot more happy about it. Would be nice if she finished that Sakura tree though, it's been almost done for like two months.

I do wonder what was up with the unannounced absence though, that did seem out of character, especially because she didn't tweet again after coming back with that flimsy excuse earlier today. Wouldn't be surprised if something happened irl, she isn't the type to tell her fans directly.

Back when she debuted Fubuki was a bit different than she is today, way more shy and reserved, but she quickly became the most popular Holo for like two years, only having been overtaken this October. During the time frame she was on top, Hololive grew exponentially and all the while she was on top, so she became the face of the company by neccessity, even if she didn't particularily desire it. These days, Friend is an absolute professional and is very skilled at representing the company, shilling products and her colleagues and moderating events, she seems like a natural born PR person, but I guess it didn't come as natural to her as it appears. In addition to the pressure of unwillingly being thrust into a leadership position like that, 2020 was a crazy year for Hololive with a lot of drama/big stuff happening (EOP Boom, Permissions Arc, Holocaust, Aloe, EN debut and boom, China, race to 1 million subs), some of which involved her directly, like being harrassed by bugmen for having the balls to admit having lunch with her friend Coco one time. I can't find the other clip I was looking for here, but she talked about not wanting to be the number one anymore and being happy if her Friends overtake her eventually as well. We don't know the exact inner workings of cover but Fubuki mentions being busy with unspecified work and cancels/delays streams because of it pretty frequently, so it has been speculated that Fubuki is involved with management in some capacity, especially because her word clearly carries a lot of weight and she can get a lot of shit done internally. In addition to all that, there is nobody that loves and supports Hololive more than FBK, she has only ever taken one single week off in her whole career (this August and it was forced by management) and basically spends all her waking moments that aren't already occupied by work on Twitter talking to her fans and shilling her colleagues streams. She seems pretty stable and composed over all, but the pressure just seems to get to her sometimes. It feels like she has become a lot more chill lately since she doesn't need to carry the whole of Hololive on her back anymore. But in the end, Fubuki is just an Otaku at heart who absolutely loves her job and her friends at Hololive and wants to talk about all the nerdy shit she likes and her Oshis more than anything else, she even still calls herself "just an otaku" in her Twitter bio.

I knew about some stuff like having the balls to hang out with Coco during China drama, but I didn't know she was that popular earlier, not to mention she is so involved in the hololive as whole. From the perspective of new viewer nowdays she seems really chill and it seems like she's having fun with what she is doing, so having to carry most of the popularity on her shoulders must've been hard for her.

I should have probably added the fact that she while was the most popular holo by the numbers, her views and especially superchat numbers kind of tanked in the first half of last year. This can be attributed to the fact that she did a lot of collabs with the Homos during that time period because they were underperforming and she thought that it might give them a bigger audience (it didn't really work). A lot of people didn't like that and kind of dropped her, but that didn't stop her from doing it anyway because Friend usually does whatever the fuck she wants. She also pulled a dangerous stunt where she made an important announcement stream to take the heat off Towa who had just had her yab moment days before. FBK pretended she had recently gotten a boyfriend for half an hour before revealing it was actually a cat. The combination of these two things also sent a lot of hate towards her, so she was underpeforming by a lot even though she was still the mist subscribed Holo by far, this is where the tired cat/ARS queen memes come from. That must have been a lot of pressure, too. She picked up some more steam over the summer again and is fine now, but her super chat numbers never managed to recover. I don't think this is much of an issue for her though, she never even reads them 95% of the time (though she has been starting to do more name readings at the end of her streams in the last few weeks) and most people speculate she gets more money from sponsorships due to her frequent shilling and possibly a higher base salary due to her deeper involvement in the company. But yeah, always glad to make someone see her for what she is. It always sucks to see people dismiss her as the meme cat or ARS queen when she has done so much for Hololive, I'd argue the company wouldn't be what it is today without her for sure.

I'd tell you to look at how often she interacted with non-holos before the company became self-sustaining, but the old archives on her channel were nuked and it's unlikely that any newfriends reading this would appreciate the importance of having an external social network back then or even recognize more than a handful of names.

Sure, a clip or two aren't accurate representstions of hundreds of hours of streams, I'll give you that, I was just trying to give newfriend anon a quick impression of that side of her character in addition to my already too long post and never meant to imply that she was genuinely depressed about having to be number one. I'm sure she didn't actually hate it but I believe her that she prefers the current status quo where she is little less in the spotlight than before.

I worded the numberfagging part poorly, I meant to say her superchats stagnated relative to her growth, not in absolute terms. With the explosive growth Hololive experienced during that period you'd have to have fucked up really badly to actually earn less month to month. ARS posting was always a misguided meme, but she was in fact in the lower quarter of earners pretty much the whole year, which doesn't line up with her status as the most subscribed holo at the time.

I admit I didn't do my research on the Holostars growth because they don't really interest me, I just assumed their interactions with Matsuri and Fubuki had less of an impact than either of them expected given their reach. I'm sure they gained a couple of thousand subscribers (a lot for them at the time) through that exposure, but has it actually had any long term effect on their growth? I figured.it didn't because they mostly stopped doing these collabs except for FOXDEMON. Do Oga's numbers spike whenever they collab to this day?

Oga's subs spiked by a couple thousand last week after their koi-koi game. Rikka and Matsuri are also still close, they did a collab on his channel yesterday as a matter of fact. Roberu said he doesn't want to give off the impression of being a leech some time ago and I can't speak for the others.
