To those who want to try kigurumi

I think nowadays, if you try to go the route of approaching a kig you look up to, asking them to teach you things, growing close with them, and hoping they'll let you try one of their kigs...it's not going to work, probably.

I've seen people try that many times, and it almost never works.

So, what to do?

Look into what you need for kig on your own.
Get a complete set, anything is fine.
It's okay if it's not great, as long as you do it yourself.

Then, attend the next public event with kigs, and imitate the people you want to be like. Improve your skills.

That's where you can start building relationships. Prepare business cards, get to know people, like people on twitter, compliment their pics, and so on.

Yes, it's a long process.
But if you go about it any other way, you'll probably be shunned.

Why? Because kigs (or people in general) only want to associate with people they respect as equals, or at least people within a tolerable range.

That's just how human relationships work.

If you actually manage to find someone super tolerant and open-minded, that's just a lucky break.

Well, these are all just my personal observations. You might have a different take, but I don't think I'm completely wrong.

And this is all for when you want to be a kig youself. If you don't want to kig but you still want to get close to one, that's a little different.

In that case, from the kig's perspective, you'll frankly just be a burden.

If you don't want to do photography or be a handler, there's just nothing in it for the kig.

It's not easy to be a handler either, since to really be good at it you need some experience with kig yourself, and familiarity with photoshoots and events.

In the end, it's not easy.

How are hadas compared to zentai? I know out of the box they aren't perfect without tailoring but because it's a matte fabric they look like they'd have a superior feel. Not like that alternative is something you're missing out on. Someone many threads back posted a kig twitch streamer's link and I was horribly disappointed. A set of silicone pads pretty much don't get any compression at all, so they'll be half the thickness of the equivalent foam pads.
