Not doubting she was happy to do Tenshi no 3P, but happiness doesn't pay the bills. For every megarich success like Mizuki Nana or someone born rich like Sumipe, there are countless newly-graduated trainees who never land big or memorable roles. The luckier ones might carve a career out in dubbing, commercial voiceovers, or sing or go into live action acting. Those who are poorly managed or have no good grip on their finances will eventually just give up.

Can't argue with that. I know the seiyuu industry is very competitive. For all we know, Yurishii does have health issues and the amount of work needed for something like Roselia (we all know how Kidani is consistently pushing them recently) can a take a toll on her health. Japan is notorious for the lack of work-life balance and the seiyuu jobs pay like shit. I can see that as one of her many reasons to quit.

Bilibili recced me this clip of kdhr guesting on Furihata Ai's niconico show from a while back. Might be of interest to those who keep parroting the "kdhr sucks playing guitar" meme without understanding the technical aspects to why musically-trained people think she needs improvement.

1. The average viewer (the Furihata fan who wrote in) doesn't think she plays poorly at all. Quite the opposite in fact.
2. KDHR played guitar for a little bit when she was younger, and it was smooth sailing at the beginning but she hit a bottleneck quickly and eventually just stopped. Roselia was the impetus for her picking up guitar again.
3. It was only after proper instruction, not just self-learning from a book, that she realized she hit the bottleneck because she didn't have the basics down back then, not knowing musical theory and such.

It varies from person to person; I'd consider myself untrained and would never had noticed the difference because (a) her showmanship is good enough to draw attention away from what her hands are doing (b) the camera might be on someone else, unless it's during a guitar solo, and even then the BD track engineering and the backing track onsite help fill in the parts she isn't actually playing.

I do think her playing, whether good or bad, is only part of a bigger whole when it comes to viewing her as an "entertainer" who also hosts shows/engages with fans/etc. Harping incessantly on her playing poorly, or "not that" poorly, or whatever detracts from the other work she has done.
