I, for one, support the direction Nanoha has taken the magical girl genre in. In retrospect, Sailor Moon was really, really dumb.

Sailor Moon is the penultimate idealistic example of mahou shoujo. Nanoha took it to a more down to earth example by giving them a government and a system to keep track of and regulate magic. Or you can read Nanoha as a pro republic screed. Sailor Moon magic is passed down based on royal blood line while Nanoha it is both inherent ability and training.

Honestly I don't like this whole idea of adult mode they introduced with Vivid, but the series in general is better than most other Mahou Shoujos out there.

I support OP's views too, but they should make the series a little simpler like it was back in S1 and A's.

I can't see why Negima is popular honestly, maybe for the characters because the actual story and setting are just bad. Even though Nanoha has all this Yuri tone to it, Negima is far more dependent on fanservice than Nanoha. That's a bad sing right there.

Well of course it is. It's the only fight in the whole series that lasts longer than 2 minutes while still being between two popular, well-developed characters of approximately equal strength. If Fate vs. Signum or Nanoha vs. Vita had been given as much time and animation budget, they would have been equally as satisfying fights. That said, I'm curious to see how this fight will turn out in the movie adaptation.
