Informative post by EvoSpace (works for Circus, involved with MangaGamer) about Shuffle

>I just finished my run of SHUFFLE! and here's my two cents.

>First of all, this game's rather short and shallow compared to many of the games out there, but at the same time, you could say those games are too long and tedious while SHUFFLE! is straight to the point. The music and story is pretty decent. Although there are some awkward details here and there, the CGs are top class in the industry. I also liked the little sound and graphical effects that they put in for entertainment.

>In conclusion this is a great game for a first timer of this genre and casual fans. If you like the artstyle, then you won't regret it. On the other hand, if you are looking for something deep, you won't find it in here.

>(quoting another post) Also, if there's a word from Mangagamer about some effort regarding the better quality of translation, it would be appreciated..

>The translation is getting there. There were far less errors than Kira Kira when I was checking it.
>(But you can also say that the amout[typo] of text in Kira Kira's was MUCH greater)

>Now they're just debating if they should keep the Japense honorifics (-san, -kun, Sempai, etc.) or not. I think they should, but one of the proof reader says they should replace it with equivalent nicknames and make it sound natural in English. I played it in this version, and it didn't feel that weird, although of course it's still kept in the voices.

Just posted there with regards to honorifics

>If I may make a suggestion, if you have both versions of the script right now (with and without honorifics), why don't you just make both available, so that everyone is happy, and at the same time you can see which one does better sales wise for future reference.

Hey speaking of Shuffle.

Is that one mormon dude tripfag still around? I thought he was doing a Shuffle translation as well, but it seemed like he sort of disappeared after a while.

Summary- The game is short and is also shit, but casuals will love it, and for those trying out a VN for the first time because they recognize the name will enjoy it and not be turned away from the industry.

Nice that despite working for them, he is honest with his feelings.

ONII-TAMA IS THE ONLY WAY YOUR LITTLE SISTER SHOULD CALL YOU. HINAKO-CHAN IS SUPERIOR.

On a sidenote I wonder how we came into something about this, I doubt they'll translate anything remotely loli anyway.

Most manga these days keep honorifics, so I hope that is the direction the industry is heading.

I hope that mormon guy isn't put off from translating stuff now that his first attempt ended up being licensed.
