You can also use a program called applocale from microsoft to run the game without installing japanese support on your system. Justnrename the exe and kgt file to something english and run the exe with applocale.

I've only used it with VP but the file structure and all the other files are still in japanese and it runs fine. The program is free, might as well give it a try.

To add I think it only needs the exe in english but VP wants the exe and kgt to be named the same hence renaming them both. For most other programs I imagine you just rename the exe and your set.

Change SYSTEM LOCALE to Japanese.
Don't worry it won't change your OS language to moon runes. Pretty much just runs programs with(or is it without) unicode support in Japanese. Programs that would normally be in English are still in English though.

1.

Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.
2.

Click the Administrative tab, and then, under Language for non-Unicode programs (System Locale), click Change system locale. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3.

Select the language, and then click OK.

To restart your computer, click Restart now.
