Here's a situation:
You are in limbo with a stash of hell money. You are given two different choices with reincarnation with the amount of money you have:

1. You are born and eventually grow up to marry a loving waifu, live in a nice house with a fulfilling job. However your loving waifu, although outwardly she seems like a perfect waifu and all, inside she's actually a zombie without feeling and merely following programming. There's no way you can ever discover this.

2. All else equal, you get a shitter house and dead end job, but your loving waifu is actually a real person with real feelings. Though from the outside she seems the same as the zombie from above and so there’s still no way for you to tell.

You will no longer be aware of your decision after reincarnation, which do you choose?

Okay now answer this question:
Let's say robot waifu were available. Would you get one?

I'll flip a coin at that point.
Either way, I'll be as loving as I can be to either of the two.

Can you read?

In any case, #1 all the way. If there's no way I can discover it, where's the problem? Ignorance is bliss.

#1, because I am also a zombie without feeling, but can simulate them enough to get by.

Also, an indistinguishable difference is no difference at all.

So either a hollow core with a Loving-Feelings outer coating, or a genuine loving core with a dull shell on the outside.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiit a minute! Holy shit, if I take option 2 I get Yuki!

OPTION 2!!! OPTION 2!!!

>> No.2901056

You can't possibly equate someone's internal happiness and material wealth satisfactorily.

The 'you can't figure it out' means OBVIOUSLY that you would always be better off in numbar one and the decision only impacts at the point before you lose memory.

Therefore, you have to choose one because two is a romantic option that would occur naturally anyways.

>> No.2901082

>or a genuine loving core with a dull shell on the outside

No 2 means genuine loving core with Loving-Feelings outer coating

With my hell money, I'd just buy a nice reincarnation where I'd keep my memory, that'd be enough to get the best of lives.

>> No.2901329

So if im getting this right....

Number 1 means she'll always be smiling and supportive no matter what I do yet in reality she's some sort of robot made to make you happy, only relying on programming with no actual feelings behind it.

Number 2 means she'll actually have feelings and get mad, happy or sad depending on what I do and while she physically appears uncaring like a robot she really is a real person.
If I did get that analysis right then i'll take number 2. A relationship with another thing, zombie or not should never be all smiles. A smile is something a man should work for!

As for this:

>Let's say robot waifu were available. Would you get one?

It'd be nice at first but at the end of all my delusions, that thing is headed for the nearest garbage can. It's cruel I know, but there are times where certain things must stop.

...I say that mostly because that one episode of Futurama where Fry falls in love with a robotic Lucy Liu seems to have oddly swayed my decision on this kind of thing.

No, 1 and 2 are indistinguishable to the outside observer. They both appear to be ordinary loving wives. 1 won't be all smiling and supportive no matter what you do, she'll behave the same as 2. They both appear to get mad, happy, sad. However, only 2 is actually getting mad, happy, sad. While 1 is merely simulating it, 1 is not conscious.

You don't know if any person truly experiences anything. Since any or every person might be the type of simulacrum described in option 1, option 1 is the obvious choice.

As some previous poster mentioned, this is a really stupid question.
