Question.
Before we get into the specifics, back way many years ago, Chicken was revered as a delicacy. It was nowhere as common as it is today. So, now I'll get to the question. If somehow managed to find a chicken in the off one in a million chance encounters, took exceptional care of it- think wagyuu beef levels of prep- and then fed it a Hourai Immortal's liver, making it immortal, could you kill the chicken over and over to have infinite meat?
Theoretically speaking, it's possible. It would solve hunger. You'd have an infinite supply of meat. Meat won't be some gourmet course you get to taste a handful of times in your life. You'd have it whenever, however you want just as people do today.
The same can be done for a cow since it's much bigger and has more meat, but just think about it /jp/. Why hasn't anyone done that yet? Of course things like the animal's mental state are important in the quality of the meat, but Hourai Elixir rejects change, so wouldn't the body still be the same after all of the prep?
Just food for thought.

A: There's a chicken god you can just do that with.
B: It's a sin in Abrahamic religions to cut meat off a living animal, and it's likely a sin in Buddhist or whatever ones as well, and will get you in trouble with someone along the way. You can't die, but they can still lock you in Makai or somewhere.
C. You probably aren't able to digest its meat if its immortal. Think about it. Why would the meat stop being immortal because it was cut off?
D. Read this chapter, particularly near the end https://mangadex.org/chapter/859139/1

The idea of infinity is stupid to begin with. Nothing is infinite.

Eating chicken (an extremely rare bird) back then would be the equivalent of eating an expensive steak now. You can't afford to eat it every day. Now, if you said beef instead, you could have steak every day assuming the cow would be able to regenerate. You could kill it over and over again for infinite meat and everyone could have steak for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even as a snack- every day. The purpose is to take something rare, and make it an abundance and readily available to the masses. When you do that, they get the illusion of living as kings and queens regardless of their social or economic status. That, theoretically speaking is the potential that the Hourai Elixir could contain. I only took their general era of time and I took what would probably be the rarest meat you could find. You see the girls, and some of Gensokyo's residents eating meat from Cows, Pigs, Eels, and Humans (though only in some doujins if they're a youkai) but you never see anyone eating something like Turkey or Chicken. Other than that, there was no particular reason. If they already eat pork and beef, what good is it to make it so there's even more pork and beef? It's like having water, then duplicating the water instead of giving someone a cup of orange juice- something new, rare, and not readily experienced by everyone in that time.

It is, but that's a discussion for a different day.
