I promised a friend of mine that if he can 1cc SA until September I would give him a copy of Dead Rising, free of charge.

I think I'm safe.

Watch as he finishes it on easy and technically accomplishes a one credit clear.

Luckily I specified normal beforehand.

>> No.2673456

Maybe I just really suck, but I've 1cc'd TH 6-8 on normal, yet I can't get past Orin.

Orin's good at that.

You cannot pass if you are not of good cheer.

SA is balls hard. A lot of tricks like over-bombing and farming for easy extra lives with points can't be done.

If you over-bomb you will end up powerless and that will kill you (power goes up slowly too in SA but nos as slow as UFO's), if you fuck up a spell you also won't get it's star piece which will mess your game up even more.

There is only one way to do SA: Master it. Every fucking spell, every pattern, every stage. Learn every single thing so you won't die easily. It's how I did it anyway, after 130 retries or something (I just noticed today that Touhou keeps track of this stuff, it's awesome).

Won't his fingers get tired?

Again, I've not been focusing too heavily on SA, but my main problem is that Satori wrecks me (thanks Reimu A), so that when I get to Stage 5, I don't have enough lives to get past Orin.

I'll probably try a different shot type when I get around to seriously tackling SA, since I'm working on STB and PCB extra right now/

Survival run for PCB extra? I can give you some tips for that.

I find Marisa/Patchy way easier for SA. Her hitbox is bigger but the spread shot hits everything on the screen so you can worry more about dodging.

Whats the point of even playing touhou on anything other then lunatic?

It defeats the entire point of the genre

It's fun to live past the second stage.

>> No.2673718

>>2673683

Yea, you'll die a lot until you get good from playing lunatic a lot, but it only takes 1-2 hours max before you can start beating levels on max difficulty.

>> No.2673753

>>2673636
Being a lunatic player myself, I'd have to agree with this. But as long as they're working towards no being secondary fans, I feel it's ok for people to play normal+.

>> No.2673761

Got a general question for Touhou players. What's the preferred control scheme? Controller, keyboard, joystick, what is it?

>> No.2673783

I got used to using a keyboard. Can't go back to a joystick or a pad...

>>2673636
Becuase even ZUN considers Lunitic a joke.

Keyboard. Tried controller once, my precision was horrible, but I have yet to try an arcade stick.

For the lunatic players out there, how long have you been playing? I started playing the games back in February, and in a little bit more than a month I was able to 1cc them all on normal difficulty (6 through 11). I got to a level where I think I can start trying to do the games on hard, but I still can't get some patterns, so I decided to do the extras. So far I got Flandre and Ran down, tomorrow I'll start working on Yukari.

Extras are very hard (especially Flandre) and I feel like I'm improving, but I ask because I don't think I'll be able to beat, say, SA on hard anytime soon, if ever.
