Universe collapses from the energy released.

It's bigger than a universe. It grows so big the universe it's in pops due to its sheer size then it grows so big it accidentally destroys other universes by brushing against them.

It fights an opponent equally as powerful.

They fight equally matched non-stop for aeons and then Nyarlathotep gets bored, turns back time, and kills the pilot when he was six years old or something.

The Elder God version of Demonbane is far more powerful but it hops around the multiverse fighting Nyarlathotep who has nutty powers (see above) AND has infinite lives. As of Kishinhishou Demonbane it has defeated Nyarlathotep 414633276 times (Nyarlathotep himself states that number, so it has to be right).

Tenchi has zero control over his power. In a fight against the Flash, all Tenchi has to do is blink and the battle would be over. Not to mention the fact that Tenchi doesn't have any defense against time travel based attacks.

Plus, they actually age, so they will die. They are humans.
And most of the times they pull the more amazing shit, they either headline Speed Force (aka, sole guy who draws from it), gather the speed of other beings, or put their bodies on the line with effects varying from time displacement to depowerement and being absorbed by the Speed Source itself.

The flashes are never meant to run in full.
