I purposefully avoid clicking on the characters' bodies (especially the female ones) when reading VNs. I sort of feel bad about it. Which is kind of ironic considering you get to fuck most of them later on in the story.
Do you? Or am I the abnormal one here?

Me too. ;_;

What the fuck?

I use the space bar.

Using a laptop. The keyboard's too far to reach when I'm laying down on my comfy chair.

It looks like you're not familiar with pro VN reading.

I plug in the laptop to my TV, make it fullscreen, sit down on the couch and then use a Bluetooth mouse to click on the screen.

How the fuck can you use a console to play PC VNs?

>> No.2570410

You could use a console controller as the input device. They're quite comfortable.

Computers aren't meant to be used with TVs. Conflicting resolutions, frequency issues... Just buy a monitor, or get a machine that's constructed to work well with TV displays. You're doing it the wrong way around.

But yes OP, I do the same thing. I also try to avoid exhaling while looking directly at them.

If it works, it works. And it does. If you're using the right (read: new) equipment. DVI-or-something ports, heard of them?

I appreciate your concern that we all get the best entertainment experience possible, but if you're going to offer advice (and with such forceful enthusiasm!) you should make sure you're informed enough.

>> No.2570457

I tend to use the space bar, but I still make sure the pointer is not around their bodies.

You're an idiot. If you use a DVI to HDMI cable, any HDTV can work just fine as a PC monitor. It just requires you to not have a shitty TV.

I sometimes use an USB to Playstation 2 converter and use a PS2 controller as well.

Are you so repulsed by yourself that you cant click on a drawing?

I don't even want there to be a cursor on the screen, obscuring the artwork, when there's nothing in particular I need to click on.

I just scroll the mouse wheel most of times, the cursor stays on the textbox forgotten.
Which is why I hate eroge who don't advance with wheel scrolling.

I always just click in the textbox. I love Shadow Over Mystaria and played the FUCK outta that game growing up, and yes I used to click on the shopkeepers to see their easter-egg dialog ("I'm not for sale" lol)
Despite this, it has never even occurred to me to click on the girls while playing VNs

>> No.2570705

I move my cursor to the bottom right corner of my screen and use the enter key. I really with more games had a control scheme that have enter as go forward, page up/down for looking back, and 0 for hiding the text. I think the only one I've played like that was Snow Sakura, but I may be wrong.

>> No.2571048

I use a gamepad to scroll in VNs, fuck hitting enter or clicking. My arm can't stand being in that position for that long.

I have neither a wireless mouse nor an HDTV, but even if I had both I wouldn't use them to play VNs. It seems like sacrilige somehow.

I like my VNs in windowed mode, an arm's length away, so that it's more like reading a book. Though I do use a gamepad for input, since it's more comfortable than using a keyboard for hours.

2572305

Bottom right corner, fullscreen, Wii Remote only.

I don't get why there aren't more people playing using the Wii remote. It's the perfect control method for VNs: Everything you need to do in a VN (click, move cursor, right-click, backlog) can be done with one hand, and since it's not attached to a cord or anything and pretty small as well, you can pretty much sit and move your hands any way you like.

tl;dr: Wiimote > all
